Hello, lovely Hivers! I've been quite busy recently, and now I want to catch up with everything I missed here. Before that, here's another blog about my college life. Just some snippets of how it has been as the school opened another academic year.
Orientation For First Years On Their First Day
August 14, 2023 was the official opening of the new academic year for college students. First years were gathered on theur first day at an open space for an orientation of what to expect in college and one by one, they would be given their Certificate Of Enrollment, together with their schedule and sectioning.
This day was also an opportunity for us to let them know that we would open our onboarding of new recruits sooner in our DRRMO office. Here's my buddy @kjl26, giving a short speech in front of them and encouraging them to join our organization. Hopefully, our efforts during this day paid off as few of them went to our office and enlist their names for onboarding in the next days.
Fun Run for DILG's Anti-illegal Drugs Advocacy
Fun Run is one good event to unite people from different places to pursue one great advocacy. Encouraging people to stay fit and healthy than to engage in illegal drugs and ruin one's life. Our school were invited again to participate in this kind of events. Altogether, we went up in the Capitol to claim our Bib number and free t-shirt. Luckily, we went there at lunch break not in the afternoon. We were the last batch to get a t-shirt each and the rest were reserved for government officials.
And the most awaited day finally came! The assemby time was 5 am, and the hosts lead the participants to start stretching, then later on explained the possible hazards during the run and to where the parcipants can seek for in case of emergency. After the countdown, the 5km run started, from the front of capitol lagoon to the City Mall Mandalagan going back.
My body's stamina couldn't handle the entire run for I just got recovered from a flu. It's a mixed of walk and run for me, amd the others were also doing it. Rather than pushing myself when it couldn't push its limits anymore, it's better to walk and continue the race slowly. There were lots of ambulance stationed in every corner to offer water to the ones who were thirsty from running. I asked for a bottle too, after I reached the turning point.
My shoulders were aching when I run longer, so I walked until I reached the finish line. Some people were dancing Zumba and some were eating Arroz Caldo given by the facilitators. I was a bit starving at that moment since I didn't eat anything going here at dawn. Therefore, I choose food over the fun of dancing and checked on my buddies who finished the run long before I did.
Each of the participants were given a Certificate after the event. Those who run faster were given prizes. They also had a raffle after all of the speech of the government officials. Our team could have won 4 times in the raffle but we haven't brought the other Bib numbers of those who didn't came. Still, fortunately, we won 1 out 4 and that went to @kjl26.
First Day of Onboarding Process For The New Recruits
Another important day for all of us in the organization. We can finally have juniors, and the team is expanding. We launched their first day of onboarding whereas it has been discussed to them the things they have to comply to proceed in the official training. It's good to see lots of young bloods joining our mission. We deeply hope that they bear the same heart we have and they can move to the next part of the training.
The onboarding process will last within a week. Some recruits can't make because of their schedules, and they were given some consideration. I maybe strict but I'm also hoping that they could all pass and be able to help us in the future.

Great opportunity for me to be able to inspire and motivate young learners or freshmen to join our great and humbly organization, it was my pleasure and my privilege
What an exciting experience in your College life yane. I see that you were so eager and fun run was an exciting activity. I joined during college days also but now seemed so hard for me. Heheh. Good luck in the academe.
It's still fun to join such activities at the first days of the semester, but not on the midterms haha. I'm going to lose some braincells. Thanks for dropping by, Ate Pink! 💗
It's always exciting to commence another school year full of hope. Here in Ghana, it was always a slow start to the academic year before it finally kicked in fully. Too bad you had the flu. Best of luck this academic year.
This is really great. Madam I like your efforts, keep it up! Hive is our home
