Hello everyone. This will be my entry for Lifescape Tribe's Colors of Life contest. And since this week's theme is about the color gold, I decided to feature the actual precious metal for my topic.
So what is lightweight gold? Pure gold is well-known for being very malleable that's why it's often mixed with other metals like silver or nickel in order to make it a sturdier jewelry piece. But in the past few years, lightweight gold became popular. It is still 100% gold but the insides are hollow. They still have beautiful designs but they're so soft and fragile that you can practically crush them with your fingers. They're mostly used for lucky charm bracelets and pendants.
These two pieces are dear to me as we bought them to commemorate the birth of my second child. The bull head was in reference to the ox which was his lunar zodiac.
What's interesting is that I bought them three years ago for just around 800 pesos. (0.3 grams) Its current value now would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,400 pesos due to a steep increase in global demand. Aside from being a lucky charm, lightweight gold can also be a cheap gateway to building generational wealth. A tenth of a gram nowadays would be around 500 to 600 pesos, which would be a smarter purchase than an anime action figure or pop idol photo cards. 😘
Puwede pagdugtong yan ano boss?
Pwede. Pero pag nakaipon ako ng marami baka papatunaw ko para solid gold bar 😆
