When I was a kid I would see characters in old movies journaling or writing in their diaries and it always looked so elegent. Beautiful cursive, ink pens, in lavish settings.
What I've discovered as an adult is that journaling can be anything you want or need it to be. Some folks draw pictures in their journals. Others write pages and pages. While others pen a few sentences and call it a day. Journaling doesn't have to be anything except what you need it to be. Which is a rather nice and liberating thought.
I love a messy journal. Some people paste photos, cut outs, material, buttons, all kinds of things into their journal and it always looks amazing. They call them Junk Journals. And although they are messy there's an artistic feel that comes out.
Interesting. I've never heard of a junk journal. It sort of sounds like scrapbooking.
