EARLY SPRINGTIME IN THE WOODS

in Nature Lovers2 years ago

Today I drove to the woods about 30 - 40 kilometers north of my hometown.

The branches of the trees are still mostly barren, but down on the ground covered with the thick carpet made of fallen leaves, I found a bunch of interesting flowers.

Those flowers, you can see them in this and the previous photograph ...

(Enlargeable)

... belong to the Corydalis cava plant.

Here you can take a look at the scenery.

(Enlargeable)

Corydalis cava is a plant from the Papaveraceae family that can be seen only in moist & shady woodland habitats.

The flowers are very interesting. From a certain angle, they look like little animals to me.

As I was portraiting the flowers, sparse small clouds were floating across the vast blue sky.

At one point, one of those clouds ended up covering the sun. This photograph was taken when the light has changed.

On the nearby dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) I photographed the Agriotes gallicus click beetle (Elateridae family)

Here you can see the small leaves of some plant that I wasn't able to identify. The leaves form a structure that resembles a feather.

(Enlargeable)

This is a shield bug that looks like some kind of seed.

I found it in the leaf litter.

(Enlargeable)

The name of the species is Sciocoris macrocephalus. I never encountered this shield bug before.

Here you can see another insect that inhabits the leaf litter. It's a very small cricket. The name of the species is Mogoplistes brunneus.

This is a portrait of the sedge in bloom.

can't tell you the name of the species ...

... but the genus is Carex ...

(Enlargeable)

... and the family Cyperaceae.

Here you can see the flowers and fruits of the Cardamine hirsuta plant.

in this photograph, I got closer to the tinny white flowers.

(Enlargeable)

Here you can see some kind of crust on the Rosa canina shrub. Can't tell you what is this exactly. Dried-out slime mold, maybe.

AND THAT'S IT. AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK.

Happy spring, @borjan. You're back in the fields and forest again. Wonderful photographs...the shield bug, the cricket (didn't look like a cricket😀), the budding flowers. Thanks for this spring preview.

🙂

Look at the camouflage skills of this shield bug. It's great that you can see it, man. I probably wouldn't have noticed it if it was me. It's also great to see the flowers blooming with the coming of spring. Awesome photos!

It's a lot of botany and entomology lessons in your blogs. That sedge is Carpex Pilosa and maybe it varies region to region. I see that egg mass on a plant branch, that dried up stuff, usually formed by moths.

I like the opening image, that purple white beauty is awesome, the shape is indeed like an insect.

Have a good day friend.

That Rosa canina shrub with the dried out slime mold... What would cause that? Snails?? Seems odd..

As always beautiful photography 😎👌

I really liked those close-ups of the insects :) That insect with shield looks to me like it's made for camouflage too.

Happy spring time 🌻. We are moving into winter ☃️, it's nice seeing all the flowers waking up on your side! What caused the slim mold? It's something I haven't seen before 🤔.

@borjan I love your photography so much mate and will be so happy to see all your future posts and really wants to learn more about photography ❤️

The pictures are very beautiful but the close up pictures, you did wonders with them. Nice one!

"the small leaves of some plant that I wasn't able to identify" with such a detailed photo too? I liked the little hairs on the leaves.

I had a Corydalis cava in one of my gardens for a few years, but it died out.

The close-up of the Cardamine hirsuta flowers was just lovely.

Beautiful flower ♥️

Lovely visions of early spring!

I loved the flowers, some insects not so much jeje.
Very nice pictures!

Cheers!

Spring brings us some wonderful new colours after a long cold bear Winter.

Awesome photos as always (especially the insects close up) fascinating!

These are some unreal natural beauties.

Flower is so beautiful, i never saw this flower, it's colour is so attractive. And next flower which looks like feather with small leaves is also so beautiful, i just want to touch this flower. This post is so interesting. Thanks for share these beautiful pictures :-)

Your photos are always amazing and I love every part of them.

How great that such exotic and beautiful flowers can be found in such remote places, as in the first photos you found those flowers on the ground, although I wouldn't go near those places for fear of an animal coming out from under the leaves.

That was quite a long travel.
Thanks for feasting our eyes again with those lovely photographs.

During the season of Spring we see that everything turns green. The beauty of your photos is that you can see the image very closely and clearly. Shield bug picture is my favorite in your photography. Thanks for sharing.
