It’s definitely a significant problem and one that makes me sad, it shouldn’t be the case! The downside to a beautiful and rich historical country like Italy getting significant amounts of migrants as well is that it reduces the culture and underlying core of Italian heritage. It’s not a bad thing to have migrants but the quantities they are at now and the impact that has on maintaining the Italy that people around the world love is difficult.
Hopefully there will be shifts in policy to promote family and parenthood!
