Hello Friends,

First week into Splinterlands in the new year and things are picking up already, goals are being set, SPS is being brought in and staked and we have a new set of cards or edition I should say, is about to be introduced and here I am sharing a battle for this week's Social Media Challenge, the First in new year!!!

The battle I would like to share is an interesting One because, Immortalis is a summoner which has been troublesome for me whether against magic monsters or even against melee or ranged, but I used a lineup that took out all the monsters from Immortalis summoned for the loss of just One monster and that too due to thorns.

Let me share the details of the battle as below.

The battle I share here is the One with 53 MANA cap and had 3 rulesets, thorns (throwing thorns on melee attack monsters), broken arrows (no ranged attack monsters allowed to be used in the battle) and super sneak (all melee attack monsters enabled to attack from any position, but will attack the last monster on the lineup) and I made up my mind to use most of the magic attack monsters as thorns were on and ranged attack monsters were out of equation!!!!

So, that prompted me to go with dragon splinter in order to utilize monsters like Chaos Dragon and Agor Longtail in my lineup which is as below:

Lineup:

1. Pelacor Mercenary:

Being a monster with healing and retaliate abilities, it's always my First choice monster from earth splinter and with thorns combined and with 4 speed, it is tipped to be going hard at front monster opponent uses.

2. Twilight Basilisk:

Although thorns are on, I thought this would be a good option to stun the monster and keep it silent as this monster is with stun ability and for 4 MANA cost, this monster gives 3 melee attack.

3. Chaos Dragon:

The thorns rule set on means it's always a wise decision to use magic attack monsters and who else is better than a Chaos Dragon which is with blast magic attack and can be even more dangerous as it attack in a scatter way!!! And to add to that, it blindfolds all opponent's monsters.

4. Goblin Psychic:

Used this as a backup tank healer and also utilize the silnce ability to reduce magic attack from opponent's monsters by 1. Moreover, it can give 2 magic attack and can remove special abilities from a monster with it's dispel ability.

5. Spirit Hoarder:

As the plan was to use Agor Longtail in the last position, I needed a monster with triage ability and left with 4 MANA cost and selected this 3 cost monster which is also with blindfold and dispel abilities and also can provide 2 magic attack in each round.

6. Agor Longtail:

Last monster on my lineup is this taunt ability monster which is with dual attack of magic and melee and is with flying ability and is also a healing monster with as many as 14 health.

With dragon splinter used, I use this monster whenever there is enough MANA and this battle allowed me to use this monster one more time.

As soon as I saw opponent using Immortalis as his summoner, I thought that, it is not going to be easy, but to my surprise, all his monsters were with magic attack and since I used Agor Longtail in last position, triage ability monster in Spirit Hoarder and also the silence from Goblin Psychic means, I kept on removing the monsters from opponent's lineup and finally, it was just Twilight Basilisk which was removed from my lineup as it was done in by thorns and couldn't be triaged with all the attack coming towards Agor Longtail and that was supposed to be helped to regain health with triage ability from Spirit Hoarder.

Any lineup against Immortalis will be under pressure as that monster not only reduces chances of magic monsters but also helps all ally monsters to reduce main health from opponent's monsters as the armors will also be reduced with each attack on a monster.

Sharing few screenshots from the battle with link to the battle shared above and happy to share this as a strategy battle against the ever annoying Immortalis.
