Survival Mode is one of the battle modes in Splinterlands which is newly introduced and it is something different from other 2 modes of battle viz Modern and Wild just because it's a mode to survive or the monsters will be dead if they lose the battle, as simple as that!!!
So, we are almost nearing the end of this season and battles are being fought in survival mode now by many either using bots or manually and I have tried both and in my honest opinion, I felt, it's the manual mode which brought more wins for me. May be the bots are still needs to be trained for this mode of battle and those might fare well when we start in a new season and by that time, we will have some stats to hone the logic to make bot better in Survival mode.
How do you prepare for battles? Do you scout your opponent’s previous teams, or do you focus on an adaptable lineup?
I guess I will approach in same way as I battle in modern and wild format, albeit some cards are barred from using in survival mode by creating a set for wild. So that is my approach, otherwise, I will keep battling with same kind of cards I used on other 2 modes of battles and the strategy-wise, it's same. I use the same cards of Pelacor Mercenary, Fungus Flinger, Katrella Gobson, Halaran Huntress, Uloth Dhampir and Mycelic Slipspawn as I would have done in a modern battle.

Are you using owned cards or renting? If renting, what’s your approach to managing your deck efficiently?
Well, I don't remember when was the last time I brought cards on rent. I think it was the card of Lux Vega which I brought on rent when it was newly introduced.
Barring that, I have been playing with the vast number of cards I have and I have excluded some important cards to play in wild and modern format and I keep trying my luck with other set of cards to play in Survival mode!!!
I have been fairly successful but I was bit hesitant in the start as it was like suicidal to lose the cards which can win many Glint in modern and wild format.
But, I now know how to play survival format and have many cards still alive and ready to be played in new format.
Tips and recommendations: What advice would you give to those looking to jump into Survival Mode?
I would say, always play it safe. I mean, just exclude the cards you feel you should use those in wild or modern format either with the bots or play manually and then have those remaining cards to play in survival mode. In that way, we will not disturb our most successful monsters and summoners and let them be available for the modes we love, yet try out few games in the survival mode. Do you agree with me?
Emerging meta: What trends are developing? Are certain summoners or strategies proving dominant?
Well, frankly speaking, I haven't got much time to go thru the strategies being used by others or go thru their blogs. I think more or less, the strategy will be same and horse for courses will be the strategy based on different rule sets and types of battles.
It's all survival of the fittest and survival of the strategists!!!
The more we play this new format, more equipped we will be to win more matches.
I think the summoners with multiple abilities will be more successful even in survival mode because those have some extra gifts to offer to the monsters they call upon duty.
I have read some stories of earning more than the combined battle wins from modern and wild format in the survival mode by some of those players and I feel that is because some top level players started playing in this new format without any fear because they have multiple sets of same set of monsters and summoners and there are people like me who started with hesitancy but slowly started playing the new mode!!!
So, some rich guys have already got more richer, but some of us have slowly started earning some extra SPS!!!
It's been exciting so far and I have lost some important monsters and summoners too, but that is not going to stop me to try and win some more battles and make it to the next level before the season ends in couple of days!!!
I am sure you are also enjoying these high intense battles in the survival mode and earning those juicy rewards!!!!
