It's a Saturday, normally not a Splinterlands blogging day, but this week has been bit busy one for me and I can't help with my usual Saturday Saver Club blog today as I need some more time for that. Hence, I am going with a Splinterlands blog that too with a very short battle just to cover up for the loss of time.
Today, I am sharing a little league kind of battle which had just 17 MANA cost cap for the battle and rule sets like up, close & personal, explosive weaponry and tis but scratches.
So, the 17 MANA cap and these rule sets made me go with Water splinter and some of the low cost monsters as I shared the details below.

Cruel Sethropod is a nice monster as a front one in such low MANA battles and I used that as the front monster along with other monsters as I explain below.
Lineup:
1. Cruel Sethropod:
As I said above, this guy is a best one and when only melee attack monsters are allowed, he is the best option with low MANA cost battles because of huge number of armors and also fairly good health for a 3 MANA cost monster.
He gives 3 attack for just 3 cost and speed is not bad as well.
2. Tide Biter:
The tis but scratches ruleset means blast is on and who else is better in low MANA battles for a blast prevention? Obviously Tide Biter is the guy for this kind of battles and he helped me to prevent the other monsters getting exposed early by preventing blast.
He is with 4 speed, 3 melee attack for just 3 cost and more importantly, helps the monsters to follow it to stay longer in the battle and win it.
3. Deeplurker:
The blast ruleset means, we need to have an opportunity monster to maximize the attack and Deeplurker is one such guy who can maximize the attack.
This guy although costs 6 MANA, he gives 5 melee attack which is with blast means 5+3+3 attack unless there is any monster with deflex ability to prevent the blast.
But, even if there is one, this guy can still attack 2 other monsters as it will always target monster with lowest health.
Along with blast, it can also thro poison and it is also with demoralize ability to reduce the melee attack by 1 and this battle with just melee attack monsters, this will be an added bonus.
4. Halfling Refugee:
I was anticipating there might be One or Two sneak ability monsters and used this in last but one slot with last monster being Torrent Fiend.
This monster is now with level 3 and has healing ability and I think I should look at using this at front position in such little league battles.
5. Torrent Fiend:
Lastly, I used this Zero MANA cost monster for the sneak attack, but there was not one to be frank.
With that lineup, I was fairly successful, in this battle with Cruel Sethropod and Tide Biter not allowing any attack go beyond them and Deeplurker keep attacking all 3 monsters with the blast on.
I won it rater easily and opponent had one dimensional attack with all his monsters just attacking front monster and that made my job easy and I won it without losing a monster!!!
