When the Noxious Fumes rule is used in battle, there are two basic strategies: trying to survive as long as possible in the hope that your opponent is defeated first, or having monsters with powerful attacks so that you can end the battle as quickly as possible before your monsters are defeated.
There are actually many strategies for this rule, but I like to think of these two as general options.
I use both strategies, but when the amount of mana available is high, then using monsters with powerful attacks is the best strategy for me, and I will demonstrate this in practice through a battle.
Link to the Battle
This is the battle I will use as an example and in it I have monsters that will have no difficulty defeating other monsters with just 1 or 2 attacks and to further improve my performance in the battle I also used some monsters that will be of great help so that my main monsters are not defeated quickly, these monsters are Baakjira, Wave Brood and Angelic Mandarin.
Baakjira will be my main defense in the backline, he has no attack but that is not a problem because he is an excellent defense since his abilities help him survive in battle, especially against magical attacks since he has the ability Void and he will also be able to regenerate life each round with his ability Heal.
The Wave Brood will be my bait in this battle since it will be the main target of the enemy monsters because of its Taunt ability. As long as the Wave Brood is alive in the battle, my other monsters will be safe.
The Angelic Mandarin will work as a support in the battle and its role will be to heal my monsters in the backline with its Triage ability.
This strategy is kind of a hybrid of the 2 ways I try to deal with the Noxious Fumes rule in battle and this is perhaps the best strategy I use because I have already achieved several victories with it.
I ended up talking a lot about the monsters that work as "supports" in this battle, now let's go to the main ones, which are the Sand Worm, Pelacor Bandit and Deeplurker, they will make a big difference in the battle because they will quickly defeat my opponent's monsters.
The Sand Worm is my most powerful monster, it has 7 melee attack and its target will be the enemy monster positioned in the last position.
The Pelacor Bandit is my third most powerful monster in battle and, like the Sand Worm, its target will be the enemy monster positioned in the last position.
The Deeplurker is my second most powerful monster in battle and its target will be the enemy monster with the lowest health.
With this strategy, the battle lasted only 5 rounds even though my opponent also had powerful monsters with a lot of health, so all I can say is that this strategy is efficient and I love using it in my battles with the Noxious Fumes rule.
