Hello All
Welcome to my weekly Splinterlands post. In this opportunity I would like to share the newest gameplay that just recently added to this game. I mean this is literally the newest addition in our game exactly at the beginning of this week. It's only about few days ago
So this is the interfacfe of the survival mode. You all can see that I haven't start anything there, no battles played. Everything has the start right? here I start my survival mode journey now...
And the first thing of all, I got this notification. Actually this is dangerous for me, if they get defeated, they can not be used anywhere... It means it goes for Modern, Wild, and Brawl??? I haven't check for the brawl and tournament, please do let me know by leaving a comment below later if you know it. But for a Modern and Wild format, it is fix that I could not use anymore when they got defeated
I only took 3 battles, and I lost two of them. Overall I have 10 depleted cards and this cause me great deal in the modern rank battles. They are gone from my line up selection, with ridiculous cooldown. It takes 5 days to cool down, which I think it is ridiculous but maybe the developer aim for something elss.
So with 20 points I have today, I get the rank #669. It means only 668 other accounts which are performing better than me right now, but don't get it wrong. They are very strong in term of card collection.
Those top 100 leaderboard are really monsters, it is not only they have max level deck, they have multiple copies to cover them incase they get depleted from Survival modes battles.
Ok that's the start and the end of my test on Survival Battle this time. From this there are several things we can take or learn. They are:
- Survival Mode is not for beginners, and I can say they are not for casual players like me. This Survival mode is designed for hardcore players, because you cards will get depleted for 5 days if they get killed, even you win the battle. So this is not only about winning a battle, but it goes deeper about the contingency of what you can and you will do next.
- As per said on the first point, to have a good survival mode journey, you need to have a good deck management, which it means that you need a double or backup copies of certain units. Card management will be one of the key issues here.
- As you get more from Survival Mode, it demands you to spend more by renting some seasonal cards and keep buying cheap cards from the market. So do not expect that by spending certain amount DEC from rental market, you could get certain SPS. The math are different, don't take this Survival Mode the same as the rank battle. There is a big chance that you will lose up more tokens and get a net negative in this mode.
- Sum up all 3 points above, stay away from Survival mode if you are a newbie or sorry... not a good players. There are many other mode that can make you enjoy this game more casually.
- If you are confused and you are a small player or casual player, just watched your friend play this mode first and ask their input. Don't tell me you don't have any Splinterlands Buddy, there are many guilds in search for active brawler out there, go get a good one and talk or socialize there. It is not hard to get some Splinterlands buddy here on Hive.
But please don't get it wrong. I am not saying this mode is bad, even personally I do not like it because I think I am not their target market. This mode is designed for the hard core ones and I believe they are many players who like that, they want to play more, they want to own more, they want to compete but the stage is not available.
From another view, this mode if it is successful in term of many players joining in, could make the card market more healthy. Why? let check these points:
- People will have reasons to own more cards, which previously owning a copy of max level is more than enough. In macro perspective, this will create demand for the cards. I really hope this could combat the price of Chaos Legion edition which I think they are too low right now due to massive oversupply.
- People will need a quick fix for seasonal rental. This could help the rental price which I think has gone down too low too. I often find my self unable to get certain cards at good rental price right now, and I believe that is good news. I know I hate it but I like it because it shows the market has more activities right now.
I think you all get my points here. With this, that's for today post, See you in Splinterlands Battles!!

What can you earn in Survival mode? Do you get any Glint tokens out of it or just some players take it all?
