The environment we grow up in can significantly impact our lives. This influence extends beyond our actions, it can shape our way of life, our thoughts, and our self-perception. For instance, individuals raised in violent surroundings often come to view violence as normal. When people from such environments discuss what life should look like and how one should live, it becomes evident that their perspectives are different from those of someone who comes from a peaceful area.

As human beings, we tend to mimic what we see, hear, and listen to. This is why individuals who watch pornography often develop a different perspective on relationships and marriage. These beliefs gradually seep in over time, altering the way they think. This becomes evident when you encounter people with differing beliefs, it can be challenging to love or maintain a personal relationship with them. Conflicts may arise frequently, stemming from the diverse backgrounds we come from and the types of information we allow into our hearts.

what you let in will have a major impact

I heard a story about a girl who shared how a friend of hers constantly told her that she wasn’t good enough. After hearing this so many times, those words began to seep into her heart. Eventually, she started to believe that she truly wasn’t good enough, especially when she made mistakes. This situation arose because she surrounded herself with negativity from her friend. As a result, she began to doubt herself, having listened to that harmful message repeatedly. Because she allowed her friend to continue saying such things at a pivotal point in her life, she ultimately accepted those negative beliefs as truth.

We all have stories that we have listened to over time, and these stories often shape what we believe. Many people are afraid to make bold moves in their lives because they have internal dialogues that tell them they are not good enough. This fear can prevent individuals from pursuing changes that could enhance their lives. The truth is that we become what we allow to influence us; if we don’t change these narratives, we risk our own downfall. Often, these limiting beliefs stem from a negative environment and the harmful messages we take in through our eyes, ears, and surroundings.

You become what you eat

If you constantly listen to negative messages, it will eventually start to impact your life negatively. You may find yourself making decisions based on these inner thoughts. Much of what influences us comes from those around us. There's a saying: "Garbage in, garbage out." If everything you allow into your life is negative or unhelpful, it’s likely that what you express will also be negative or unhelpful.

It is very important to always maintain a positive attitude, even in challenging situations. I know this is easier said than done, but when we keep a positive mindset, we are more likely to achieve positive results. The type of information we allow into our minds has a significant impact not only on our thoughts but also on our decision-making processes.

thanks for your time.

Having first hand experience of this usually happens when you change environments and see how it affects you mentally or even emotionally. Our minds are like a sponge that just absorbs everything that's around it. So we need some form of filter and a good level of discernment to separate what we take in and what we don't take in.
