Anytime I bring the conversation of investing up among my friends The normal response I get from them is “Isn't that a risk?
If I want to be fair, investment is risky but if you are looking at it from the angle of risk, we must remember that everything in life is not risky even with things that make us happy. Life is risky and this is the main reason why people avoid investing and every other thing that could have better their life. People don’t want to take risks, but if you look at your life very well, you realize that you take risks every day, you just don’t think enough to realize that everything is risky.
If you enter a taxi, you don’t know the driver but you put your life in their hands believing that he will be able to take you to your destination. What makes you so sure that you can do that and even sure that he is a good driver still put your faith in him to do the job well, the same thing goes with pilots and the list goes on. We risk our lives every day, risk is not what should be afraid of because if you want to get anything done in this life you must take a little bit of risk. Nothing comes without his own risk.
The greatest risk of them all
When I see people climbing mountains, skydiving, and doing all sorts of things, they are risking to enjoy themselves without taking their risk They won’t be able to experience the pleasure that they are having. The same thing goes with Life, without taking risks you won’t be able to get any results but the greatest risk of them all is not taking risks at all which most people don’t talk about because not taking risks at all is also risky. It comes with a lot of regrets also people don’t even know not taking a risk at all is also a risk on its own and the reason why there’s not seeing any changes in their lives.
Risk is not the problem
Everything around us comes with its own risk, but one thing we must realize is that risk is not a problem and The problem is how we can manage a risk. Most people don’t consider risk management before they go into something risky. We must always remember that just because something does not look risky on the surface doesn’t mean that it is not risky. Everything comes with its own risk, We must consider risk management before doing anything. When you realize that you are getting yourself to what you cannot manage the risk and most importantly you don’t understand the risk involved It is better not to do it because you can only control what you understand.
Risk is not a problem because we are always at risk and everything we do in life is risky not doing anything at all is also risky. There’s no point in running away from risk but the point is understanding the kind of risk we are getting ourselves into. Finance comes with its own risks but we must try to understand it and manage it, if we can’t understand, it’s better to stay away from it.
