All we have is Now

Procrastination is common in our society today, we delay in showing appreciation to someone, we delay in expressing love to someone, we delay in lending a helping hands to someone in need, etc. Most times we wait until it's the wrong hour or too late for our kindness to make impact in the other person. We are always discouraged to give, or help out as we delay in making decision.

Few months ago, I promised I was going to support a particular project; though I was having the money to support it that moment, I hesitated with the believe that there was still time. The more days passed away, the more reasons I had not to give, it became a struggle in deciding whether I was still going to support that project or not. All this contemplation rised because I believed I had lot of time to do what I was suppose to do at that particular moment.

The assumption that we have lot of time in our hands could be deceptive. All we have is now, Now is the time to show love to that one person who feels unloved, Now is the best moment to give out your support or take that action. Procrastination is a killer, and it robs us of our good will. All you/we have is now to visit that sick patient who had being battling with his life. Before my aunty died, few persons who were suppose to care did not, they kept postponing their day of visit, and kept promising to help until the shocking news of her death was announced. We could see regret in their eyes knowing they did not only fail her but failed in their responsibility.

The assumption that we have lot of time by our side could be dangerous. Time they say waits for no man, we are only knowledgeable about the present but ignorant of the future. Whatever we need to do, all we have is now.
