Recetas de la abuela.

     Yeli comienza su día ajetreado como siempre. Observa su reloj de la mesita de noche y cae en cuenta de que se ha quedado dormida. Salta de la cama al baño, y de allí inmediatamente a la cocina. Prepara el desayuno para los niños, los arregla casi de manera automática para que se suban al transporte escolar y se vayan a buena hora.

Grandma's Recipes.

     Yeli starts her busy day as usual. She looks at her watch on the bedside table and realizes that she has fallen asleep. Jump from bed to bathroom, and from there immediately to the kitchen. He prepares breakfast for the children, arranges them almost automatically so that they get on the school bus and leave at a good time.

     Una vez que ha pasado todo ese torbellino Yeli, retoma la tranquilidad, se sirve una humeante taza de café y aun en pijama se sienta en su sofá a tratar de ordenar, aunque sea en su cabeza, su complicado día.

     Once all that whirlwind has passed, Yeli returns to tranquility, pours herself a steaming cup of coffee and even in her pajamas sits on her sofa to try to order, even if it is in her head, her complicated day.

     A la joven madre le llega el inconfundible olor de su preferido y rico dulce de lechosa, se levanta de su cómodo sofá y se acerca a la cocina.

     Allí está su amada abuela, quien le sonríe afectuosa, y la invita a que la ayude para terminar de vaciar en la olla los trozos picados finamente de lechosa verde, con su panela de papelón rallado y unos clavitos de olor.

     The young mother gets the unmistakable smell of her favorite and rich milky fruit sweet, gets up from her comfortable sofa and approaches the kitchen.

     There is her beloved grandmother, who smiles affectionately at her, and invites her to help her to finish emptying into the pot the finely chopped pieces of green milky fruit, with her panela of grated papelón and some cloves.

     Yeli feliz abraza a su abuela, siente ese calor que emana su cuerpo y que a ratos ella extrañaba, las dos conversan y siguen paso a paso la elaboración de aquel manjar.

     Yeli happily hugs her grandmother, she feels that warmth that emanates from her body and that at times she missed, the two talk and follow step by step the elaboration of that delicacy.

La abuela no deja de repetirle que debe dejar cocinar a fuego medio y estar constantemente revolviendo para que todos los trozos de la fruta se mezclen con el almíbar de azúcar y papelón que se encuentra dentro de la gran olla.

     Yeli disfruta del rico olor, y de la compañía y consejos en la cocina de su abuela.

     La muchacha quiere capturar ese momento con su abuela y que no se vaya de su lado. Se sientefeliz.

Grandma keeps repeating that she must let it cook over medium heat and be constantly stirring so that all the pieces of the fruit are mixed with the sugar syrup and papelón that is inside the large pot.

     Yeli enjoys the rich smell, and the company and advice in her grandmother's kitchen.

     The girl wants to capture that moment with her grandmother and not leave her side. She feels happy.

Es imposible de olvidar que cada año este mismo dulce se comparte en la familia. Hermanos y demás familiares se reúnen para compartir la navidad. Y siempre el invitado de honor, es el dulce de lechosa de la abuela.

     Sus nietos orgullosos afirman que han aprendido la receta para su preparación. Todo en aquella casa es alegría.

It is impossible to forget that every year this same sweet is shared in the family. Brothers and other relatives gather to share Christmas. And always the guest of honor, it is the milky fruit sweet of the grandmother.

     Her proud grandchildren claim that they have learned the recipe for its preparation. Everything in that house is joy.

De repente suena el teléfono, y Yeli se sobresalta. Atiende, del otro lado se escucha la voz un tanto airada del personal de la escuela. Le informan que aun no han ido a retirar los niños y por eso han debido llamarla.

     Yeli casi no lo puede creer, LAMENTABLEMENTE estaba soñando, su amada abuela ya no está en este mundo terrenal, pero Yeli agradece a Dios que le haya permitido verla y abrazarla, y además compartir su receta de dulce de lechosa.

     

[ENG]

Suddenly the phone rings, and Yeli is startled. Attend, on the other side you can hear the somewhat angry voice of the school staff. They inform her that they have not yet gone to remove the children and that is why they have had to call her.

     Yeli can hardly believe it, UNFORTUNATELY she was dreaming, her beloved grandmother is no longer in this earthly world, but Yeli thanks God for allowing her to see and hug her, and also share her recipe for milky sweet.
