The pharmaceutical industry is right there at the top when it comes to pragmatism and lack of compassion. Maybe even more than the war industry, since they are more insidious, while the latter are more concrete and direct in their objectives.

It's crazy. The ironic thing is that most doctors would swear that their ethics is to save lives and nothing more, but this is mostly the opposite.
I belong to a subreddit where people are going through chronic conditions and they'll tell you pharma and doctors are greedy
That's definitely a global phenomenon, maybe with few exceptions in some places or individual doctors who take their oath seriously.
