Hello to all Splinterlands friends!!!
When one thinks about how to manage extra cards we have, maybe even a collection usable in Ranked Battles, two options immediately come to mind: renting the cards or using bots.
Card rentals were very profitable in the past, but now the older edition cards, like Alpha, Beta, and Untamed, have somewhat lost their starring role in teams, especially in the Modern format where they can't be used. As a result, rentals have become less profitable, especially for older cards, which have found a new use case as Farmers in the Lands.
Using Bots has always been controversial on Splinterlands: it involves giving permission to an algorithm to play on your behalf with your cards, paying a fee and/or sharing a percentage of the earnings in SPS or other forms of payment.
In the past, when there were no limits, there were actual Farms of bots, but now, with various restrictions (for example, bots are banned in the Modern format), the use of these tools has become much more limited.
But there is a third way that some may not know about: Scholarship.
It involves opening a second (or more) account to which you delegate your duplicates or unused cards, then giving the username and Posting Key of your account to a trusted person, a Scholar, who will play on your behalf and practice with available cards to battle.
It seems like a true Win-Win situation: the account creator can earn from unused cards, and the Scholar can practice without spending a dime and can earn according to the personal agreement with the owner.
It’s very important to set up the secondary account correctly: in the Settings section, activate "Require active authority for transferring assets out of account" so that if the Scholar tries anything shady, with the Posting Key (which is still a low-level private key that grants few powers), they won’t be able to transfer assets out of their own account.
Always keep your Active and Master Key of the second account safe: with these, you can change the Posting Key if anything goes wrong.
From what was mentioned above, it’s clear you need to trust your Scholar: it's important to establish a dialogue, maybe on a Discord server, where you can discuss agreements, payments, and various goals and objectives to achieve.
Clear agreements and long friendships… it’s worth spending some time to get to know each other and to understand each other's game skills: if the Scholar is an absolute beginner, their performance may be poor in the first few weeks, and they might not reach the Leagues or corresponding rewards set in the agreements.

Quando uno pensa a come gestire delle carte in più che abbiamo, magari una vera e propria collezione sfruttabile nelle Ranked Battles, ci vengono subito alla mente 2 opzioni: noleggiare le carte, oppure usare dei bots.
Il noleggio delle carte era molto profittevole nel passato, ora le carte delle vecchie edizione, come quelle Alpha, Beta e Untamed hanno perso uno po' il loro ruolo di titolari nelle squadre , soprattutto nel formato Modern in cui non si possono usare, quindi gli affitti sono diventati meno profittevoli, soprattutto per le carte vecchie, che hanno trovato un nuovo caso d'uso come Famers nella Lands.
L'uso dei Bot è stato sempre controverso su Splinterlands: si tratta di dare il permesso ad un algoritmo di giocare al posto tuo con le tue carte, pagando una fee e/o dando una percentuale dei guadagni in SPS o altre forme dei pagamenti.
In passato, quando non c'erano limiti, c'erano delle vere e proprie Farms di bots, ma adesso, con le varie limitazioni ( per esempio nel formato Modern i bot sono vietati), l'uso di questi strumenti è diventato molto più contenuto.
Ma c'è una terza via , che alcuni non conoscono, ovvero la Scolarship.
Si tratta di aprire un secondo (o più) account a cui delegare i propri doppioni, o le carte che non si usano, e poi dare il nome utente e la Posting Key del tuo account ad una persona di fiducia, uno Scholar, che giocherà al posto tuo, e farà pratica avendo a disposizione delle carte con cui combattere.
Sembra proprio una situazione Win Win : chi crea l'account potrà guadagnare dalle carte che non usa, e lo Scholar potrà fare pratica senza spendere un centesimo, e potrà guadagnare secondo l'accordo personale con il proprietario.
È molto importante fare i giusti settaggi nell'account secondario: nella sezione Settings, bisogna attivare il "Require active authority for transeferring assets out of account", in modo che lo Scholar, in caso volesse fare il furbo, con la Posting Key (che comunque è una chiave privata di basso livello che da pochi poteri) non possa trasferire gli asset fuori dal proprio account.
Tenete sempre al sicuro le vostre Active e Master Key del secondo account: con queste potrete cambiare la Posting Key nel caso qualcosa dovesse andare storto.
Da quello detto sopra si evince che bisogna fidarsi del proprio Scholar: bisogna quindi instaurare un dialogo, magari su un server di Discord, in cui si parla chiaramente degli accordi, del pagamenti e delle varie richieste e obbiettivi da raggiungere.
Patti chiari e amicizia lunga.... bisogna perdere un po' di tempo per conoscersi un minimo, e anche per capire le competenze di gioco: se lo Scholar è un principiante assoluto, forse la sua performance può essere scadente le prime settimane, e potrebbe non raggiungere le Leghe, e i relativi compensi, prefissati negli accordi.
Comunque se conoscete qualcuno che è entusiasta di provare a giocare, lo Scholarship su Splinterlands potrebbe fare al caso vostro !!!

Ottimi consigli! Personalmente mi piacerebbe un giorno trovare uno scholar a cui far utilizzare il mio account.
Per chi non ha tempo di giocare può essere una buona ipotesi, sempre se si trova la persona giusta.
Sì, quella è la parte che mi preoccupa di più, anche perchè non saprei bene da dove cominciare... forse dal Discord ufficiale di Splinterlands? Chissà, prima o poi, se riuscirò ad incrementare la qualità della mia collezione, magari farò qualche test!

It's a cool idea! Once I did have a scholar a few years back who lost interest. Since then I hadn't even thought about it. Not a bad way to use those older cards that have lost most of their value. I really wish they would fix that problem!
Scholarships are a nice idea but you have to find someone you can trust, that will play regularly, and is more or less competitive.
Not easy to find !!!
