We have an important topic for this week's community engagement challenge with the topic being the Glint shop usage and strategies for the same.
We all know Splinterlands isn't airdropping the rewards cards for daily and season end rewards, instead, it pays the rewards in the form of Glint tokens as shown below for each win we have for each battle win.
That means, we keep accumulating the Glint tokens and can utilize it at any time using the Shop option provided besides the REWARDS or we can navigate through SHOP link and then REWARDS above to reach the Rewards page.
The Rewards shop is known as GWEN's GLINT SHOP as shown in below screenshot, where we have 2 main options for spending the Glint token and to buy the rewards cards.
The First option is to use RARITY DRAWS option, where in, we have options for each reward card type i.e. Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary as there are 4 options one each for each of these rewards cards category and each will need different quantity of Glint with Common draw requires 150 Glint to be spent to buy a card and the card can be regular or gold foiled and we can increase the chance of gold foil by using potions.
Likewise, we need to spend 750 Glint for a rare card, 7500 Glint for a epic card and 35K Glint for a legendary card and I want to re-iterate that, these each buys will give us a guaranteed card for each of the category purchase.
For e.g. say, I am spending 1500 Glint to buy 10 common cards, I will get 10 common cards and we may or may not get the gold foiled ones.
So, that's about the RARITY DRAWS buy option of cards.
We have other option of using LOOT CHESTS as second option from the above screenshot and each of those options are MINOR CHEST for 200 Glint, MAJOR CHEST for 1000 Glint and ULTIMATE CHEST for 4500 Glint.
The twist here that, we are not assured of a guaranteed card with this option, but, we might get lucky to get a legendary monster from a minor, major or ultimate chests and we might get other things like potions, merit tokens, energy for playing more battles or some land related objects as well as part of jackpots.
Now, it's up to One to decide which one they want to go with.
Personally, I feel, we should buy a mix of these 2 types of options available to us to have the cards as well as potions and if we are lucky, to even have something special from jackpots.
If we need to level up the cards, it's always a wise decision to go with RARITY DRAW buys so that, we can level up from buying one particular card type and then move to the other type so that, before the cards printing ends, we can level up one type of cards atleast.
This has been my strategy since the Glint tokens are announced and I have been buying both types of options and sometimes I feel lucky and most of the times, it's just potions, some energy or merits from those loot chests.
As I said above, if we are lucky, we may get a legendary monster even from minor chest and those chances are very very rare I say.
So, play it cautiously and decide what you want to purchase based on the amount of Glint you have.
