One thing to note is that the coffee cups stack. Each one also gives you 3 more energy per mission you complete while the timer is running. At the same time, coffee cups are better than just getting a coffee overfill from missions because you lose out on the 3 energy.

I knew it added 3% when the coffee cup was used but I didn't know that 3% was added to each mission completed during the coffee effect hour.

Yea you need to refresh or click the map section again to see the increased energy. So if you aren't paying attention, it is easy to miss.
