How Does Crypto Influence Your Real-Life Decisions?

During the active bear market I saw many memes mocking people who invested on crypto. It felt funny, and I laughed about it.

The fact that I understood crypto was why I found the memes laughable, but there legit people who actually lost money to many scams projects and these people were in the commentsl section narrative their stories.

In reality, these were the guys who invested at the top of the market in 2021 and lost the majority of their money, but because they had such terrible stories to tell, subsequent newcomers would hear them and believe that crypto is a glorified scam.

To be honest, a lot of people fail to understand that crypto is more than what the media, the internet or web2 portrays it. Unless you are in, you are just a third-party observer who will most likely continue to buy at the top, lose money on scam projects, and never truly become involved.

Crypto transforms your mindset, lifestyle, and habits. I've seen people who have become introverts because of crypto, people who would make their conversations all about it.

Their spending and earning habits, as well as their casual conversations, are all about cryptocurrency. I am one such person. For example, when I see someone with an iPhone 16, all I can think about is how $1200 could easily go to Hive or Ether and legitimately make X10 or 15.

Although it is always a quick mental process, I find it strange that I am now wired this way. For the past five years, I have struggled to purchase reasonably priced clothing or accessories. Although I can not afford them, it appears that even if I could, the money would definitely go to crypto and nothing else.

I understand that broke people have the best plans in their heads until they have the money, at which point all of their plans vanish with the wind, but in reality, nothing is as life-changing as crypto with the right amount of money and research.

Back in the day, I used to get excited about buying new shoes or shirts and showing them off on Facebook.

I know someone like that, but knowing crypto has made us more introverted and less outspoken, with it (crypto) accounting for 80% of our conversations. Whether we are talking about food or just life issues, crypto makes its way into the conversation, and when I stop to think about it, I think it is strange that we can go from that to this in only 7 years.

There are many people who are financially fortunate. I mean, these are the people who are making crazy money, not because they have worked too hard for it; these people could afford to invest in crypto for years and it would not hurt their financial situation, so they could potentially make a lot of money or secure their future with crypto, but they lack this knowledge, which is unfortunate.

On a daily basis, we see people waste their lives and make terrible decisions out of ignorance, and while these people may not realize it, people like us see the consequences of their actions because we are too exposed to people who have been wrecked by crypto.

In my language, we say, people who have heads do not have caps, and the ones who have caps do not have heads, which literally means that we are all enabled differently, with those who have the knowledge to change their lives lacking the means, and vice versa.

I think I like how crypto appears to have changed my way of life; the emotions, failures, losses, success stories, and anticipations.

Although I consider myself a noob, I still do not understand why I can be walking along and thinking "this can do X10 in 24 months, while this can do X50 in 36 months". It is not a normal way to live as a human, and it is absolutely hilarious. For you, in what way has crypto truly influenced your real life decisions?

What crypto has brought me in real life was a better awareness to the shortcomings of fiat and banks, and a more critical view on official narratives. Overall, I believe I may have become a better investor after my time in crypto, although it may have come with age and experience and not particularly crypto.

Well thanks for sharing. I think you may have gotten better with age, but I think there's this aura that crypto just gives you and somehow it makes you see things differently, just like you saw it with banks, fiat and all that. I think we all have different experiences and impact.

Not really for me. It could have because I wanted to buy up about 50 BTC in 2014, but the ex-wife vetoed the idea. Thanks to her I'm out millions... Sometimes we get lucky, I know some people like to do quick flips on Solano, I've never tried it personally. I guess there is always potential to earn life changing sums of money, it just hasn't happened for me yet!

Well. If you had bought that BTC and flipped gains probably 5 to 6 years later, you might have been a big crypto man since early adopters are often filled with wisdom and experience. Unfortunately she's no more there and sometimes you might think about it and wonder what could have been if you had taken that decision. Like you've said, opportunities should come, might just take time

Crypto isn't affecting my everyday life yet, but I began to put a monthly sum of my wage into Hive savings and that's it. Now I'm more interested in the crypto world for sure, unfortunately I don't have enough time to learn how to invest properly

I think learning is crucial. Of course it can be very tough to dedicate time to learn, but it eventually pays off. I think in time you'll discover that (after this cycle) the market might significantly begin to impact the way you see things

The fact that Hive is going back up and it worths more than when I joined, plus tha fact that I have Hive savings is already changing my perception of crypto ✌🏻

Hive will keep going up, down and sideways until maybe after Q1 then the big pump will happen. This creates a lot of FOMO and emotional rollercoaster

I totally agree! I can't even dare buy myself an iphone just because 1) I dont need it and 2) i'd rather invest the money than buying the phone. I, too, kinda feel i've became more introvert because of crypto and the work im in.

Crypto is still developing technology. There is a lot of upwards action if they succeed in their actions. Most people just rely on the current system because they feel that it is safe. I don't think that is easy to change for people.
