The splinterlands' season has ended mostly on the 15th and last day of the month, which has been the case for over 6 months, but I believe this will change when February (the only odd month of the year) arrives
This time, I earned a lot more Glints than usual, which I believe was due to some game changes. I finished with 74.9k rather than the average 45k I used to, and i decided to take a huge gamble by buying a legendary.
I was already aware that legendary sets were overrated at their base level; at least half of them are, and they only begin to come alive in level 2 or 3 with some additional abilities.
35k is a lot of Glints to gamble with, but since I had 150k glints when my rewards were multiplied, I figured it was time to gamble and see if I could land a decent legendary card, which I didn't, and it was probably my biggest regret this season.
So, the legendary card I flipped is FRIGID WOLF.
One mana card with the charge ability. Now, this ability is average at best, and I am curious why this card is a legendary. I expected it to be a beast at a higher level, but it is just the same one ability at level 4 with the addition of one melee attack.
So I am not sure who came up with the idea to make this card a legendary; at best, it should be a rare, because there is a card in common with this ability that does not even cost up to 40k glint to max out at level 10.
However, all of that is gone, and 35k glints have been lost. I should have stuck to my principle of not buying any legendary cards, but I guess my curiosity overcame my discipline.
EPIC
My main strategy was to buy as many epics as I could afford during this time period, but I only managed to get 5. Interestingly, I received another Olivia, even though I already have her at level 2.
Maxing her out will increase her melee and magic attack, making her more dangerous. But I'm happy with the epic cards I got.
I also got rares and commons, but I have not posted about them, so I will just get to my Gladius cards.
I have been doing very well in my Guild, and thanks to guild rewards, I have been able to earn enough merit to triple the rate at which I can not earn merits, and this is all due to the dedication of the new Guild members and all of the players.
However, the disappointing part is that I still have not gotten some of the good stuff.
There's this legendary melee card that belongs to the fire element, it has sneak with some great speed. I have not been able to get this card no matter how hard I have tried, and I especially want it because of how many times I have lost as a result of it.
Gladius Cards
There are other legendary cards in the game that I would like, but I have only gotten commons so far. So I opened six Gladius cases and only got two epic cards, and it is been disappointing not to get any legendary cards so far.
I suppose I will have to keep earning merits to have a chance. Overall, the season went well. Although SPS earnings are lower, and the fact that the price is not performing well makes it even more appealing to earn such a small amount.
However, I am expecting the upcoming crypto run to significantly boost the market, and I may need to make some serious decisions.

Nicely done! The Frigid Wolf isn't my favorite either. But you got an Olivia and Shock Trooper! This season I only did brawls, the wild pass just doesn't pay for itself. Now the daily HBD will be running out, I hope they have put together a solid and sustainable plan!

I haven't been feeling well either. A friend is over and helping me to do things. (Just left today because he has to go back to work) I figured out, I might have to go to the hospital if it got worse, but mainly, I could have just gone to the hospital since I was already in so much pain and had an unbearable fever for over 3 days. But I just couldn't afford the money. So figured I have to wait and self care at home.
Sorry you haven't been feeling too good either, I guess it's just what it is. How do you do now?
The Frigid is probably the worse legendary reward card.

The strength in this reward set is definitely NOT in the legendary cards, there are some nice ones but they 2 mana cards suck, especially at level 1...
My strategy is to buy epic draws because chests gives a lot of merits but nothing great unless you're really lucky.
The common and rares I earn from league promotions and I bought the rarity draws to get them at a decent level first
Yes, the one-mana legendaries are terrible and some of them even at level 4. I don't understand the logic behind the cards or why they were made, or who even choose to design them and make them so terrible. Perhaps it was just a way to suck up all the Glints or something like that.

Yeah, this season was special as we had a 1.5x boost bonus from the team as sort of reward because Splinterlands was voted as the 2nd best TCG in crypto. But this season the Glint rewards should be back to normal, as far as I know.
