Focus on SPS and My Road to 150k SPS Staked!
Blockchain-based games and in particular Hive-based games are one of my passions and for this reason I like to play but I also like to share on my Hive blog my gaming activity and my progress in the games I like the most or in which I see the most potential.
Today there are many games I play with a good regularity but among all of them and after almost six years since my first battle it is Splinterlands the game I play most frequently and practically every day.
Web 3 games have a double aspect: a playing aspect and a financial aspect.
My approach in web 3 games is very simple and is more based on fun than on the financial side:
- if a game is fun for me and I enjoy playing it consequently I invest and buy/improve the game's assets.
- If a game does not entertain me or entertains me little I sell the assets to buy other assets of games that give me more fun or to do Hive Power Up and increase my HP.
I enjoy progressing and improving my game stats in my favorite games but my main goal has always been, is and probably always will be to increase my Hive Power!
On Splinterlands my main goal has changed over time.
Before the division of Ranked Play into the Wild Format and the Modern Format my main focus was accumulating useful cards in battle and increasing the level of these cards.
Then my focus shifted only to usable cards in the Modern Format because it is the only format I like because there are no bots and I only enjoy playing against human players like me.
The presence of bots in the Wild Format has progressively nullified my enjoyment in this format and in fact has also produced a great disincentive for me to buy cards in general and especially cards that are close to coming out of the Modern Format.
As long as human players like me cannot use all the cards only against human players = as long as there are bots in the Wild Format I will buy few cards and prefer to rent them to play in the Modern Format!
Therefore, my current main goal on Splinterlands is not to purchase and upgrade cards but to increase the amount of SPS in my possession.
The SPS staked tokens are very important in the game dynamics of Splinterlands because they influence:
- the GLINT Boost
- the SPS Boost = the gain in SPS for each battle won.
On December 23, 2024, I published a post in which I set an accumulation goal for SPS tokens: 150K SPS staked.
On December 23, 2024 I had 120009.68 SPS staked.
Today, February 22, 2024, I have 130829.42 SPS staked.
In 61 days I obtained a good increase: +10819.74 SPS

If I maintain this rate of increase I could reach my accumulation goal in about 4 months but of course I hope to reach my goal sooner.
If I divide the SPS increment by the number of days (61) I get a daily increment of +177.37 SPS per day which is a higher increment than the daily increment of 114.65 SPS per day that I had calculated on December 23, 2024.
I will continue to increase my amount of staked SPS as long as I enjoy playing on Splinterlands and also because SPS tokens have many use cases besides the use case related to in-game rewards.
In fact, staked SPS tokens continuously produce SPS tokens and VOUCHER tokens based on a APR of 10.64%
Compared to 61 days ago, the APR has decreased slightly but it is a good APR because it is above 10%:
- Dec. 23, 2024 -> APR 10.86%
- January 22, 2025 -> APR 10.64%
I am also an active player on Moon Karts and thanks to my staked SPS tokens I can claim the COLONY tokens that are distributed daily via airdrop to SPS stakeholders and GLX stakeholders.
SPS tokens also have a DEFI-side use case because they can be added as liquidity in different pools.

I like to invest only in the pools that have additional rewards for liquidity providers and I am a liquidity provider in the PKM:SPS pool in which I have a share = 0.108% and I receive a daily gain in DEC, SPS, PKM and VOUCHER tokens (APR 23%).
Starting in December 2024, SPS tokens gained a new use case due to the introduction of the entry requirement in Soulkeep leagues starting from league 2.
I am also an active player on Soulkeep where I play in league 2.
In the next image you can see my latest game result in the league 2 tournament which allowed me to receive 73.55 SPS as a reward.
Accumulating more SPS will be important for me because I will be able to advance in the higher Soulkeep leagues in which I do not advance by choice because I want to have a good SPS boost on Splinterlands.
Another use case of SPS tokens that I consider very important to me is the possibility of voting Proposals and Draft Proposals.
I conclude this post by showing the graph of the market value of the SPS token on Coinmarketcap and BeeSwap.
In the next image you can see the SPS/DEC ratio graph provided by the useful token charts tool at https://www.splintercards.com/.
The upcoming release of the new set of cards (planned for May) will be an important moment for DEC tokens but also for SPS tokens and it will be interesting to see the effects produced on the Splinterlands ecosystem.

I giochi basati su blockchain e in particolare gli Hive-based games sono una delle mie passioni e per questo motivo mi piace giocare ma mi piace anche condividere nel mio Hive blog la mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi nei giochi che mi piacciono di più o in cui vedo più potenziale.
Oggi sono tanti i giochi a cui gioco con una discreta regolarità ma tra tutti e dopo quasi sei anni dalla mia prima battaglia è Splinterlands il gioco a cui gioco con più frequenza e praticamente tutti i giorni.
I giochi web 3 hanno un duplice aspetto: un aspetto ludico e un aspetto finanziario.
Il mio approccio nei giochi web 3 è molto semplice ed è più basato sul divertimento che sul lato finanziario:
- se un gioco mi diverte e mi piace giocarci di conseguenza investo e acquisto/miglioro gli assets del gioco.
- se un gioco non mi diverte o mi diverte poco vendo gli assets per acquistare altri assets di giochi che mi procurano più divertimento oppure per fare Hive Power Up e aumentare il mio HP.
Mi piace progredire e migliorare le mie statistiche di gioco nei miei giochi preferiti ma il mio obiettivo principale è sempre stato, è e probabilmente sempre sarà di aumentare il mio Hive Power!
Su Splinterlands il mio obiettivo principale è cambiato con il passare del tempo.
Prima della divisione del Ranked Play nel Wild Format e nel Modern Format il mio obiettivo principale era accumulare carte utili in battaglia e aumentare il livello di queste carte.
Poi il mio focus si è spostato solo sulle carte utilizzabili nel Modern Format perchè è l'unico formato che mi piace perchè non ci sono bots e io mi diverto a giocare solo contro giocatori umani come me.
La presenza dei bots nel Wild Format ha progressivamente annullato il mio divertimento in questo formato e di fatto ha prodotto anche un grande disincentivo per me ad acquistare le carte in generale e soprattutto le carte che sono prossime ad uscire dal Modern Format.
Fin quando i giocatori umani come me non potranno utilizzare tutte le carte solo contro giocatori umani = fin quando ci saranno i bots nel Wild Format acquisterò poche carte e preferirò noleggiarle per giocare nel Modern Format!
Per questo motivo il mio attuale obiettivo principale su Splinterlands non è acquistare e potenziare le carte ma è aumentare il quantitativo di SPS in mio possesso.
I token SPS staked sono molto importanti nelle dinamiche di gioco di Splinterlands perchè influenzano:
- il GLINT Boost
- il SPS Boost = il guadagno in SPS per ogni battaglia vinta
Il 23 dicembre 2024 ho pubblicato un post in cui ho fissato un obiettivo di accumulo per i token SPS: 150K SPS staked.
Il 23 dicembre 2024 avevo 120009.68 SPS staked.
Oggi 22 febbraio 2024 ho 130829.42 SPS staked.
In 61 giorni ho ottenuto un buon incremento: +10819.74 SPS

Se manterrò questo tasso di incremento potrei raggiungere il mio obiettivo di accumulo tra circa 4 mesi ma ovviamente spero di raggiungere il mio obiettivo prima.
Se divido l'incremento di SPS per il numero di giorni (61) ottengo un incremento giornaliero di +177.37 SPS al giorno che è un incremento superiore all'incremento giornaliero di 114.65 SPS al giorno che avevo calcolato il 23 dicembre 2024.
Continuerò ad aumentare il mio quantitativo di SPS staked fin quando mi divertirò a giocare su Splinterlands e anche perchè i token SPS hanno molti casi d'uso oltre al caso d'uso collegato alle ricompense di gioco.
Infatti i token SPS staked producono in modo continuo SPS tokens e VOUCHER tokens in base ad un APR del 10.64%
Rispetto a 61 giorni fa l'APR è leggermente diminuito ma è un buon APR perchè superiore al 10%:
- 23 dicembre 2024 -> APR 10.86%
- 22 gennaio 2025 -> APR 10.64%
Sono un giocatore attivo anche su Moon Karts e grazie ai miei token SPS staked posso fare il claim dei token COLONY che sono distribuiti giornalmente tramite airdrop agli SPS stakeholders e agli GLX stakeholders.
I token SPS anno anche un caso d'uso lato DEFI perchè possono essere aggiunti come liquidità in diverse pools.

Un altro caso d'uso dei token SPS che considero molto importante per me è la possibilità di votare le Proposals e le Draft Proposals.

Nell'ultima settimana ho iniziato a comprare SPS. DEC sta diventando scarso sui mercati, a breve il team inizierà ad acquistarlo in modo massiccio (in realtà lo sta già facendo), avendolo oramai quasi terminato. Inoltre il nuovo set è alle porte e centinaia di milioni di DEC saranno utilizzati.
Insomma ci sono tutte le carte in tavola per aspettarsi un recupero del peg ed un burning massiccio di SPS.

Also want to play more human against human, in my case the bots earns more glint and therefor quicker completing my soublound deck... So unfortunately my bots is playing now.
Ever so often i try it again out in modern see how far i can get..
I think 4 months to reach the desired 150k is not such a long time, especially since you've got it all mapped out.
There's no doubt that splinterlands is an enjoyable game, the only problem has been the bad choices made by the game over the years.
Looks like your opponent predicted your tanker realy good, i guess hard work and determination does pays off

This is a goal I also have, but I'm still struggling to achieve it. Last month I did buy the dip when SPS went below .006 USD, but picking up missing alpha/beta cards to play in max wild events and ranked play is a hard habit to crack.
One thing going in your favor is your large bags of HIVE. I don't have nearly as much powered up and staked, but I do use all of my HP/HBD rewards to continue strengthening my position on Hive Blocks. If I were you, I might take my monthly HBD payout and swap it for SPS as a simple way to increase your SPS bags.
I've found that the @sps.dao tournaments are my best source of earning SPS. I can almost double my earned SPS each season just from the tournament events I play in. Plus, that SPS arrives unstaked and ready to be swapped for DEC or HIVE, so I find it slightly more challenging to stake the SPS prizes. Falling back into old habits, I usually end up buying more cards instead of buying more SPS.
