I opened 29 Chaos Legion packs to play more battles in Survival Mode
Splinterlands is my favorite Hive-based game even though I like to play manually only in the Modern Format where there are no bots.
It may be the novelty effect but I also like to play in the newly introduced game mode: the Survival Mode.
Survival Mode is a format particularly suited for those who have a lot of cards because in Survival Mode there is no energy bar as in the Wild and Modern formats but the cards themselves represent the energy bar.
In fact in Survival mode battles cards used in a losing battle enter a cooldown mode = they cannot be used in all ranked game modes (Modern Format, Wild Format, Tournaments, Brawls) until the cooldown period is over.
I have a collection of cards that allows me to play in Modern Format's Diamond leagues in every season but I don't have many cards to use in Survival Mode.
There is one type of card that is particularly important in Survival Mode: the Summoner cards.
In fact, in Wild and Format formats having multiple copies of the same summoner is not useful.
In Survival Mode it is just the opposite, and having more summoner cards is a great advantage.
To date I have played 22 battles in Survival Mode: 10 battles won and 12 battles lost.
12 battles lost = 12 summoners in cooldown.
If I exclude the summoners that I use in Modern Format, the summoners that I have delegated to my alt account with which I am testing in Modern Format, the summoners that I have in the lands, and the summoners that I have rented to other players I only have 14 summoners that I can use in Survival Mode.
Although I have many monster cards that I could use in Survival Mode I do not have enough summoners to play many battles in Survival Mode.
One possible option to have more summoners in Survival Mode is renting but only cards rented for an entire season can be used in Survival Mode and there are few summoners that can be rented for an entire season at low prices.
In order to have some extra energy in Survival Mode today, I decided to open 29 Chaos Legion packs that I had not intended to open before the release of Survival Mode.
I decided to open these packs with the hope of finding a few more summoners to use in Survival Mode.
By the way, the Chaos Legion packs have a very low market value, a value that is lower even than the estimated value of the cards that can be found inside, and this is another reason why I chose to have more cards to use in game than Chaos Legion packs to sell.
Today I went to the Open section of Splinterlands and opened 29 Chaos Legion packs choosing to open all packs at once.
In the next images you can see the 145 cards I found inside 29 packs.
I was lucky in finding 1 legendary summoner but I was unlucky with the number of summoners I found because out of 145 cards I found** 9 summoner cards**:
- 1 Lyly Shieldpaw
- 2 Obsidian
- 3 Tarsa
- 3 Thaddius Brood
I immediately used Obsidian in battle and it brought me luck because I won my first battle today in Survival Mode.
It definitely went badly in my second battle today in which I lost.
In the third battle, I got lucky because my opponent did not choose the formation in time and I won without playing and thus without the risk of sending more of my cards into cooldown.
In the fourth battle I met a player with a very high Power because it was over 10 million.
In this case I chose to use only level 1 cards instead of using my best cards.
When I saw the cards used by my opponent a little bit I regretted my choice because by using my best cards I would have had some chance of winning the battle....
In the coming days I will continue to play in Survival Mode with the season goal of at least arriving in the Bronze I league.
It won't be easy to reach the Bronze I league with the few summoner cards I have but I will have fun trying!

Ho aperto 29 pacchi Chaos Legion per giocare più battaglie nel Survival Mode
Splinterlands è il mio Hive-based game preferito anche se mi piace giocare manualmente solo nel Modern Format dove non ci sono bots.
Sarà l'effetto novità ma mi piace giocare anche nella nuova modalità di gioco introdotta di recente: il Survival Mode.
Il Survival Mode è un formato particolarmente adatto a chi ha tante carte perchè nel Survival Mode non c'è la barra dell'energia come nei formati Wild e Modern ma sono le stesse carte a rappresentare la barra dell'energia.
Infatti nelle Survival mode battles le carte utilizzate in una battaglia persa entrano in una modalità cooldown = non possono essere utilizzate in tutte le modalità di gioco ranked (Modern Format, Wild Format, Tournaments, Brawls) fino a quando non è terminato il periodo di cooldown.
Io ho una collezione di carte che mi permette di giocare nelle leghe Diamond del Modern Format in ogni stagione ma non ho molte carte da utilizzare nel Survival Mode.
C'è una tipologia di carte che è particolarmente importante nel Survival Mode: le carte Evocatore.
Infatti nei formati Wild e Format avere più copie di uno stesso evocatore non è utile.
Nel Survival Mode è esattamente il contrario e avere più carte evocatore è un grande vantaggio.
Fino ad oggi ho giocato 22 battaglie nel Survival Mode: 10 battaglie vinte e 12 battaglie perse.
12 battaglie perse = 12 evocatori in cooldown
Se escludo gli evocatori che utilizzo nel Modern Format, gli evocatori che ho delegato al mio alt account con cui sto facendo un test nel Modern Format, gli evocatori che ho nelle lands e gli evocatori che ho dato in noleggio ad altri giocatori ho solo 14 evocatori che posso utilizzare nel Survival Mode.
Anche se ho molte carte mostro che potrei utilizzare nel Survival Mode non ho sufficienti evocatori per giocare molte battaglie nel Survival Mode.
Una possibile opzione per avere più evocatori nel Survival Mode è il noleggio ma nel Survival Mode possono essere utilizzate solo le carte noleggiate per una intera stagione e ci sono pochi evocatori noleggiabili per un intera stagione a prezzi bassi.
Per avere un pò di energia in più nel Survival Mode oggi ho deciso di aprire 29 Chaos Legion packs che prima del rilascio del Survival Mode non avevo intenzione di aprire.
Ho deciso di aprire questi pacchi con la speranza di trovare qualche evocatore in più da utilizzare nel Survival Mode.
Tra l'altro i pacchi Chaos Legion hanno un valore di mercato molto basso, un valore più basso anche del valore stimato delle carte trovabili all'interno e questo è un ulteriore motivo per cui ho scelto di avere più carte da utilizzare in gioco che pacchi Chaos Legion da vendere.
Oggi sono andato nella sezione Open di Splinterlands e ho aperto 29 Chaos Legion packs scegliendo di aprire tutti i pacchi contemporaneamente.
Nelle prossime immagini puoi vedere le 145 carte che ho trovato all'interno di 29 packs.
Sono stato fortunato nel trovare 1 evocatore leggendario ma sono stato sfortunato con il numero di evocatori che ho trovato perchè su 145 carte ho trovato 9 carte evocatore:
- 1 Lyly Shieldpaw
- 2 Obsidian
- 3 Tarsa
- 3 Thaddius Brood
Ho utilizzato subito Obsidian in battaglia e mi ha portato fortuna perchè ho vinto la mia prima battaglia odierna nel Survival Mode.
E' andata decisamente male la mia seconda battaglia odierna in cui ho perso.
Nella terza battaglia ho avuto decisamente fortuna perchè il mio avversario non ha scelto la formazione in tempo e ho vinto senza giocare e quindi senza il rischio di mandare altre mie carte in cooldown.
Nella quarta battaglia ho incontrato un giocatore con un Power molto alto perchè superiore a 10 milioni.
In questo caso ho scelto di utilizzare solo carte di livello 1 invece di usare le mie carte migliori.
Quando ho visto le carte utilizzate dal mio avversario un pò mi sono pentito della mia scelta perchè usando le mie carte migliori avrei avuto qualche chance di vincere la battaglia...
Nei prossimi giorni continuerò a giocare nel Survival Mode con l'obiettivo stagionale di arrivare almeno nella lega Bronze I
Non sarà facile raggiungere la lega Bronze I con le poche carte evocatore che ho ma mi divertirò a provarci!

Even though you were unlucky with only getting 3 summoners, at least you got a legendary summoner.
Do you ever use the Peakmonsters to analyze your pack openings? Here are your results in case you're curious. Looks like you did well with the $11.02 value vs $8.12 value of the packs (29 packs at 0.28 each).
Edit: you also got 3 Tarsa and 3 Thaddius in your openings. So I think you got 9 summoners total.
