Minimum Rental Price is Now 1 DEC + My Seasonal Rental Activity (In & Out)
On Splinterlands, SPS tokens are the tokens that can be earned from game activity, but they are also the governance tokens that permit voting on SPS Proposal to decide changes to game dynamics and other game-related aspects.
In June 2024, the proposal submitted by @captaindingus on increasing the minimum card rental price from 0.1 DEC to 1 DEC passed.
On February 4, this change was implemented.
I like this change for the simple fact that anyone who rents a card must pay a fee of 1 DEC.
I also really like the Draft Proposal currently being voted on that proposes to eliminate daily rentals by allowing only seasonal rentals.
I like this proposal because when I rent a card I generally want to use it for the whole season and it is particularly annoying and tedious when the person who rented the card takes it off the market before the time I need it.
This is exactly what happened in the current season with the maximum level VRUZ card that I rented for 7 days but then the owner decided to terminate the rental before the end of the seven days.
Seasonal rental as the only option is an advantage especially for the player and for this simple reason I like this proposal which I voted in favor of.
Because the topic of this post of mine is card rental I also share my seasonal rental activity which is in two directions because:
- I rent out my Beta and Untamed cards because the Wild (Bot) Format is boring to me because I like to play only against human players like me
- I rent some cards that can be used in Modern Format because this season I started a test and doubled my playing activity in Modern Format by using two accounts (@libertycrypto27 and @libertygame27) instead of using only my main account.
In seasons 148, 149, 150 and 151 I tested playing also in the Wild Format.
In the Wild Format I used a bot that played with my Beta and Untamed cards.
(Non)Playing in the Wild Format using XBOT was unfun and also unprofitable because I ended the four seasons at a loss even though I used a collection of cards I owned worth more than $600 and also spent an average of 400 DEC per season to rent cards useful in battle.

Some people are saying that playing in the Wild Format using a Bot is fun.
I respect all opinions different from mine but I don't see how you can use the terms play and fun when using a BOT and unless you have a collection of $1000 and at least 100K SPS you are unlikely to make a profit in the Wild Format because of the cost of the Wild Pass...
Cards that will come out of the Modern Format will always lose value as long as the Wild Format will have the current structure (bots allowed + Wild Pass).
The only hope for the old cards to re-gain relevance in the game is Survival Mode, the next game mode that will be introduced on Splinterlands which, however, will, unfortunately, be a bots friendly game mode like Wild Format.
With my main account I have my own competitive card collection to play in the Diamond leagues of the Modern Format and I do not need to rent more cards because I enjoy playing manually with my card collection.
I don't use my Beta and Untamed cards and yesterday I put 53 rental cards at the lowest price on the market.
Out of a potential gain of 160 DEC per day I rented only 10 cards out of 53 from which I get a daily gain of 11.89 DEC per day.
One of the cards I used the most when I played manually in Wild Format is Byzantine Kitty in Level 3.
I still consider Byzantine Kitty to be one of the most versatile summoner cards that can be used in the Wild Format but it is difficult to rent out unless you give it for a few DEC.
In order not to see my level 3 Byzantine Kitty unused today, I used the Rent->BID section of Peakmonsters to see what was the best rental bid for level 3 Byzantine Kitty.
In fact, Peakmonster's Configure rental bid feature is useful not only for making a rental bid but also for finding out what rental bids are on the market.
I had asked for 68 DEC per day but there is a rental bid for 32 DEC per day.
I preferred to earn 32 DEC per day instead of 0 and lowered the rental price of my Byzantine Kitty to 32 DEC.
The price change cost me 1 DEC but now I will receive 32 DEC per day which is undoubtedly better than 0.
Having activated this rental will allow me to reduce the rental cost I am incurring to use 21 cards with my second account in Modern Format.
In fact for libertygame27 I have an active rental of 21 cards for which I am spending 64.04 DEC per day.
Although I spend 64 DEC per day this cost is largely covered by the earnings I receive from battle wins.
In fact with libertygame27 I started the season in Bronze III league and now play in Diamond III league in which I get a gain per battle won of about 3.5 - 3.7 SPS.
With only two battles won I easily exceed the daily rental cost because the gain from my last battle win was 3.94 SPS whose value equals 36.84 DEC which is 57.53% of the daily cost I spend to rent cards.
My 4-season test in the Wild Format using XBOT was an unfun test that produced a loss.
My current test in the Modern Format is a fun test for me because I play more battles manually and it is also a positive test financially because I am also making a profit.

Su Splinterlands i token SPS sono i token guadagnabili dall'attività di gioco ma sono anche i governance token che permettono di votare le SPS Proposal per decidere cambiamenti alle dinamiche di gioco e ad altri aspetti collegati al gioco.
Nel mese di giugno 2024 è passata la proposta presentata da @captaindingus sull'aumentare il prezzo minimo del noleggio delle carte da 0.1 DEC a 1 DEC.
Il 4 febbraio è stata applicata questa modifica.
Mi piace questa modifica per il semplice fatto che chi mette a noleggio una carta deve pagare una fee di 1 DEC.
Mi piace molto anche la Draft Proposal attualmente in fase di votazione che propone di elimanre il noleggio giornaliero permettendo solo il noleggio stagionale.
Mi piace questa proposta perchè quando noleggio una carta voglio generalmente utilizzarla per tutta la stagione ed è particolarmente noioso e fastidioso quando chi ha messo in noleggio la carta la toglie dal mercato prima del tempo a me necessario.
E' esattamente quello che è successo nella stagione in corso con la carta VRUZ di livello massimo che ho noleggiato per 7 giorni ma poi il proprietario ha deciso di interrompere il noleggio prima della fine dei sette giorni.
Il noleggio stagionale come unica opzione è un vantaggio soprattutto per il giocatore e per questo semplice motivo mi piace questa proposta che ho votato in modo favorevole.
Dato che l'argomento di questo mio post è il noleggio delle carte condivido anche la mia attività di noleggio stagionale che va in due direzioni perchè:
- metto in noleggio le mie carte Beta e Untamed perchè il Wild (Bot) Format è noioso per me perchè mi piace giocare solo contro giocatori umani come me
- prendo in noleggio alcune carte utilizzabili nel Modern Format perchè in questa stagione ho iniziato un test e ho raddoppiato la mia attività di gioco nel Modern Format utilizzando due accounts (@libertycrypto27 e @libertygame27) invece di utilizzare solo il mio account principale.
Nelle stagioni 148, 149, 150 e 151 ho fatto un test giocando anche nel Wild Format.
Nel Wild Format ho utilizzato un bot che ha giocato con le mie carte Beta e Untamed.
(Non)Giocare nel Wild Format utilizzando XBOT è stato poco divertente e anche non profittevole perchè ho chiuso le quattro stagioni in perdita anche se ho utilizzato una collezione di carte di mia proprietà del valore superiore a 600$ e ho anche speso in media 400 DEC a stagione per noleggiare carte utili in battaglia.

C'è chi è afferma che giocare nel Wild Format usando un Bot è divertente.
Rispetto tutte le opinioni diverse dalla mia ma non vedo come si possa usare i termini giocare e divertimento quando si usa un BOT e se non si ha una collezione di 1000$ e almeno 100K SPS difficilmente si ottiene un profitto nel Wild Format a causa del costo del Wild Pass...
Le carte che usciranno dal Modern Format perderanno sempre valore fin quando il Wild Format avrà la struttura attuale (bots consentititi + Wild Pass).
L'unica speranza per le vecchie carte di ri-acquistare importanza nel gioco è il Survival Mode, la prossima modalità di gioco che verrà introdotta su Splinterlands che però, aimè, sarà una modalità di gioco bots friendly come il Wild Format.
Con il mio account principale ho una collezione di carte di mia proprietà competitiva per giocare nelle leghe Diamond del Modern Format e non ho necessità di noleggiare altre carte perchè mi diverto a giocare manualmente con la mia collezione di carte.
Non uso le mie carte Beta e Untamed e ieri ho messo 53 carte a noleggio al prezzo più basso sul mercato.
Su un potenziale guadagno di 160 DEC al giorno ho dato in noleggio solo 10 carte su 53 da cui ottengo un guadagno giornaliero di 11.89 DEC al giorno.
Una delle carte che utilizzavo di più quando giocavo manualmente nel Wild Format è Byzantine Kitty di livello 3.

Pur di non vedere la mia Byzantine Kitty di livello 3 inutilizzata oggi ho utilizzato la sezione Rent->BID di Peakmonsters per vedere qual'era la richiesta migliore per il noleggio per Byzantine Kitty di livello 3.
Infatti la funzionalità Configure rental bid di Peakmonster è utile non solo per effettuare una rental bid ma anche per conoscere le offerte rental bid presenti sul mercato.
Io avevo chiesto 68 DEC al giorno ma c'è una richiesta di noleggio per 32 DEC al giorno.
Ho preferito guadagnare 32 DEC al giorno invece che 0 e ho abbassato il prezzo di noleggio della mia Byzantine Kitty a 32 DEC.
Il cambio di prezzo mi è costato 1 DEC ma adesso riceverò 32 DEC al giorno che sono indubbiamente meglio di 0.
Aver attivato questo noleggio mi permetterà di ridurre il costo di noleggio che sto sostenendo per utilizzare 21 carte con il mio secondo account nel Modern Format.
Infatti per libertygame27 ho un noleggio attivo di 21 carte per cui sto spendendo 64.04 DEC al giorno.
Anche se spendo 64 DEC al giorno questo costo è ampiamente coperto dai guadagni che ottengo dalle vittorie in battaglia.
Infatti con libertygame27 ho iniziato la stagione in lega Bronze III e adesso gioco nella lega Diamond III nella quale ottengo un guadagno per battaglia vinta di circa 3.5 - 3.7 SPS.
Con sole due battaglie vinte supero facilmente il costo giornaliero del noleggio perchè il guadagno della mia ultima vittoria in battaglia è stato di 3.94 SPS il cui valore è uguale a 36.843 DEC che corrisponde al 57.53% del costo giornaliero che spendo per noleggiare le carte.
Il mio test della durata di 4 stagioni nel Wild Format usando XBOT è stato un test poco divertente che ha prodotto una perdita.
Il mio test in corso nel Modern Format è un test divertente per me perchè gioco più battaglie manualmente ed è anche un test positivo dal punto di vista finanziario perchè sto ottenendo anche un profitto.

My biggest issue is we finally, finally implemented the 1 DEC Rental Minimum... and are not going to have the opportunity to see how it affects the market structure and price of cards...

Previously, when the floor was .1 DEC these would rent for maybe 2 DEC? 3 DEC?
The 1 DEC Floor Price worked to increase the rent value of these max level cards... but if we immediately implement another change without seeing how this one affects market/rental pricing... that would be silly in my opinion.
I understand your point and agree that changes should be tried before implementing other changes but if the current proposal change is implemented in the time your proposal change was implemented there will be time :)
In theory I would be in favor more for the freedom to keep the two options (daily and seasonal) but having rented cards for five seasons (four in Wild and now 1 in Modern) it always happened that I would find myself having to re-hire some cards even some that I had rented for 3-4 days because the rental was interrupted.
Thinking about human player/new human player I voted for the one season option because it will be an option that will improve the experience of a potential new player who might find it tedious to have to monitor and rent a card multiple times during a season.
Currently it is easier to rent cards daily than seasonally (there are fewer cards available) and having a single market could be a simplification
In my opinion there are pros and cons to changing the rental market but it is other changes that I think should be made such as ensuring a human player can use his cards without having to pay in the Wild Format to play against bots...

I saw those changes, and I am a bit sad to see the 1 DEC minimum. I think it priced out some of the lower cards from being on the market for rent, but I understand why. As for seasonal rentals, I think that makes more sense. It would suck to see the owner just cancel their delegation on you.
For me, cards should not have a minimum and there should not be a fee to put them up for sale but since there is the 1 DEC fee it makes more sense to have 1 DEC as a minimum.
Questions:
Will Splinterlands automaticaly change our card rents to one dec or will we have to change them manually?
Are we allowed to continue existing rental contracts which are less then one dec?
Do you know if our rentals less then one dec will be frozen of harmed in any way?

All cards not rented at the time of the change have been updated to the new price, in fact in the rental market the search by lowest price displays only cards from 1 DEC
Yes rental cards before the change keep the old price and old contract until expiration.
In fact I went to see your renta-history is you have an active rental at 0.100 DEC

I bet with some of those cards removed - like Ifrit Rising lol, it could be pared down to 75 Cards... and Liberty has made it to DIAMOND.
Isn't that what you would want to see for a new player? Not relegated to Bronze... but given the chance to play, level up and earn more than before... Liberty is yet again proving this is profitable and I love it!
This should be the New Player Target - and I think we could help them achieve it :)
Now try the renting experience in bronze or silver.
Diamond is not where new players start, for various reasons. You can't just skip over what is happening in lower leagues and say the system is good because Diamond works.
So playing in Modern by renting cards and SPS can be profitable for a new player but in my opinion the discussion about seasonal or daily rental is not so important for a new player and it is not that important to retain a new player in the medium to long termHi @bulldog1205 In my test I started from Bronze III league and arrived in Diamond league with 50K SPS, 67 delegated cards from my main account (card value $84) + a rental cost of 453 DEC for 21 Chaos Legion max level cards for the final 7 days of the season and I earned 248 SPS.
Splinterlands is an example of a game that has structured and fun gameplay that would still have so much potential to attract new players but this potential is in my opinion greatly reduced by the current Modern Format (human players only) and Wild Format (bots and wild pass) division
Currently on Splinterlands a human player who enter today and buy Chaos legion in three months he will find that he can only use the cards he bought to play against bots and will also have to pay 2K DEC to use his cards in Ranked Play.
To me this is an absurdity that has driven away so many old human players and will drive away so many new human players.
Obviously my opinions are personal and therefore not shareable but I will continue to share my idea of what the structure of ranked play should be:
For me, this division would be a good step forward to restore value to the gameplay and reemphasize human players which are the pillars of every web 2 and web 3 game
I am thinking of making a proposal on this aspect.

Mi piace questa novità! Il grosso di ciò che noleggio sono carte che non avevano problemi in tal senso, ma ho anche un po' di carte di livello 1 del set Rebellion che sicuramente potrebbero beneficiare di questo nuovo prezzo minimo :)
Ed anche il noleggio stagionale potrebbe essere comodossimo, perchè avere le mie carte più importanti noleggiate per un'intera stagione è sicuramente meglio che averle noleggiate per metà stagione o giù di lì.

Mi dispiace deluderti @arc7icwolf ma temo che non noleggerai quasi mai le carte di livello 1 ad un DEC. Ce ne sono troppe sul mercato. Non ci riuscivo praticamente mai neanche quando noleggiavo tutte le carte perché non giocavo più, quindi ne avevo messe tantissime sul mercato del noleggio.
Il noleggio di carte di livello 1 era rarissimo anche a prezzi di 0.1 Dec, immagina ora che avranno un prezzo di 1 DEC. A quel prezzo per molte carte conviene comprarle. Con il costo per una stagione ce le compri quelle comuni.
Be', oddio, in effetti non hai tutti i torti 😅 non avevo considerato il fatto che al prezzo di 1 DEC tante carte sarebbero decisamente troppo costose da noleggiare: è che 1 DEC vale così poco che non ci avevo minimamente pensato !LOL cmq le mie carte di livello 1 sono tutte del set Rebellion, di cui non c'è un numero esagerato di copie in circolazione... magari qualcuna mi riuscirà noleggiarla ogni tanto? Però sì, la mia positività era decisamente sbagliata 🤣
Può darsi qualche carta dalle rare in su. Le comuni restano sempre molto difficili da noleggiare a 1 DEC. A quel prezzo, controlla pure, si riescono a noleggiare quelle di livello 2, qualche volta anche il 3. In questo momento c'è un Drybone Hobgoblin di livello 4 in affitto a 1 DEC.

Vedremo cosa succederà ma allo stesso tempo penso che le modifiche importanti da fare siano altre

Quanto al rent giornaliero comunque il problema secondo me è proprio quello che hai evidenziato nel post: è una bella idea, ma che spesso viene rovinata dal fatto che chi ti noleggia una carta per tot giorni poi cambia idea ed interrompe il noleggio. In questo modo diventa frustrante e capisco il perchè della modifica.
Però, sì, i problemi sono altri e queste sono piccole cose che pesano il giusto.

I think the 32 DEC amount you rent out the kitty will also help to offset some of your rental cost. I think it's fraustrating for the owner of a card to take their cards off the rental after you've paid for some days.
Absolutely it is better to have 32 dec per day than 0

It is very difficult to make a profit in the WILD with all the associated costs, and I don't prefer that approach that needs a good collection of cards to run the bot. I prefer playing the Modern format, which is fun and profitable with a rating around 2800+, 3 SPS with 35K SPS staking is amazing for me.
In my opinion, the current structure of ranked play is the real problem to be solved.
I only have fun in Modern, and Wild is a soulless format because it doesn't protect gameplay and doesn't entertain human players who have to pay to play with their cards against bots...for me this is almost a paradox
Caro @libertycrypto27 non condivido che sia positivo eliminare il noleggio giornaliero. Per evitare il problema di chi ti leva le carte già noleggiate sarebbe stato sufficiente eliminare la possibilità di chiudere il noleggio prima della scadenza ponendo una scadenza massima pari a 15 giorni.
Eliminando il noleggio giornaliero si elimina anche la possibilità di far l'upgrade di carte man mano che si passa da una Tier all'altra. Se sei in Silver III è inutile noleggiare carte di alto livello perché per salire bastano carte del livello intermedio, che puoi noleggiare finché non sali ad un tier in cui ti conviene cambiare le carte. Anche perché non tutte le carte sono valide allo stesso modo nelle diverse tier.
Sul costo minimo del noleggio pari a 1 DEC ci sono pro e contro e si tratta solo di adeguare il proprio budget. Penso che ora alcune carte converrà più comprarle che affittarle, soprattutto nel caso di singoli BCX, quindi in particolar modo leggendarie: non ha senso usare carte comuni di livello 1 se non a tier novice.
Comunque poiché il mio tempo disponibile per giocare resta poco penso che a questo punto mi converrà affittare tutte le carte del Wild Format e rinunciare del tutto a tornei e brawl, che erano proprio le modalità che ultimamente predilegevo. Sembra quasi che gli sviluppatori guardino cosa faccio io per cambiare le regole per ostacolarmi. Non è la prima volta che accade.
Penso proprio che tornerò solo a noleggiare le carte e incassare i profitti al 100% tanto con queste regole non ha nessun senso comprarne né nel format Modern (che porta solo a svalutazioni quando passeranno al Wild) né, tantomeno, nel Wild visto che una carta di quel format difficilissimamente potrà rivalutarsi e tornare a nuovi usi man mano che vengono editate nuove carte di nuove edizioni che tra l'altro sono sempre tendenzialmente più forti.
A dire il vero l'opzione migliore sarebbe di vendere tutto e metterci una pietra sopra ma per motivi affettivi non mi sento ancora pronto a farlo, sebbene sia sempre meno attivo.
Sul cambio del noleggio ci sono pro e contro ma non penso sarà una modifica che avrà un impatto importante nelle dinamiche di gioco/prospettive future anche se le tue considerazioni sono valide
A me diverte ancora giocare su Splinterlands ma sposo in particolare il tuo ragionamento sull'acquisto delle carte e quando uscirà il nuovo set, invece di comprarle, le noleggerò per giocare nel Modern Format sempre che mi converrà farlo... io più che al valore monetario delle carte guardo al valore di gioco e fino a quando i giocatori umani non potranno usare tutte le carte contro giocatori umani non ho interesse a comprarle e al massimo posso fare operazioni di vendita e acquisto all'interno di uno stesso set di carte ma il divertimento che provavo prima ad upgradare le carte mi è stato letteralmente tolto dalla combinazione Wild Format + Wild Pass ...

I knew that card will be scarse the moment i saw it, i havent come across in the market it will be nice though if its in the mordern format
The biggest current problem in my opinion is the structure of the wild format that does not allow cards to be used against only human players
