Hello Readers,
Since the launch of Moonkarts on Hive, the cool Racing game developed and recently launched by @ArcadeColony, I have been actively engaging with the game and learning the basics and lately, I also kick-started my Virtual racing career in Moonkarts by investing a decent amount in packs, scripts and buying cards from the Moonkarts market. The honor of seeing such detailed 3D visuals and smooth gameplay running on the Hive blockchain platform is truly impressive. Now, as I continue learning all the game’s basic mechanics, I am also sharing my knowledge through this Moonkarts tutorial series, which I think will help you to understand Moonkarts quickly and invest wisely.
Now, in my previous Moonkarts Tutorial posts, we have discussed Karts, Drivers, Tech Cards, Accessories, Power-Up Cards, Card Levels and Merging, and Preset, which all together cover almost 80% of the game already. Anyway, moving on, in this 8th installment of Moonkarts Tutorials, we will take a dive into a very important feature of the game - Auto Vault and Fuel Generation.
What is Auto Vault?⛽️
As you have gathered all the racing equipment and a good driver, now in order to race against other players and start earning Colony tokens, you just need one more thing - Fuel.
Now, the Auto Vault feature is the real business in Moonkarts because this feature enables players to generate fuel by staking their unused Moonkarts cards. Instead of wasting your extra cards as they sit idle, Moonkarts players can put them to work by staking them in Auto Vault, thus allowing the cards for passive fuel accumulation. The Auto Vault system in this game plays a very crucial role because every race in the multiplayer section will cost you fuel depending on your Kart, Driver and other card’s rarity, foil and level. The Auto Vault staking feature helps us maintain a steady fuel supply so that there’s always enough juice for your multiplayer hunger. So, a player should always focus on balancing which cards to use and which ones to stake to ensure that he/she always has enough fuel to participate in races and also good cards to play with.
As you have guessed, by strategically selecting which Moonkarts cards to stake, players can maximize their fuel generation rate because different cards have different fuel generation stats and certain rare cards have a high generation rate, which is very effective for staking in your auto vault. It is clear that the Auto Vault staking mechanism is an excellent way to utilize surplus cards by giving them a solid use-case since the start of the game while balancing between staking and playing to reach a sweet spot.
How to Stake Cards in Auto Vault?
The Staking of cards in the Auto Vault is a simple process. Let me share the steps below.
- Open the game UI, then click on the Auto Vault button located in the Middle of the Left corner.
- You will be redirected to the Auto Vault page, where you can browse through the owned Moonkarts cards in your account. You can filter the View for Regular or Gold Foil, Card Rarity or can also search a specific card by typing the name in the search bar, located at the upper right corner.
- Now, at the left box, you can see the cards I have currently in stake mode. I have currently staked a total of 7 cards in Moonkarts along with the required 14 Script tokens - 5 of them are Regular Foil being displayed at the screenshot above and the remaining 2 are Gold foil.
At the Upper Right corner, the box represents my current Generated Fuel, 65.88 Fuel in my case and then the total number of staked cards, 7 in my case.
At the box located right below, you can see the total amount of script tokens I am currently staking and the total number of Script tokens required to generate full Fuel generation for my staked cards lot.
As you can clearly see from my staking stats above, I have all 14/14 required Scripts in staked form and from all my staked cards, I am earning 201.1 Fuel per day.
Now, Moonkarts Players can easily place their unused cards into the Auto vault, and these staked cards will begin generating fuel over time when coupled with Script tokens. Each card has its own unique fuel generation number, which can be seen by watching the card’s stats in the Cards section. The amount of fuel produced is determined by.
- Card Rarity Type – Higher rarity NFT cards generate fuel at a faster rate than lower rarity ones in Moonkarts.
For example, a Legendary card in staked will earn more than a Common card.
- Card Level – Different card levels (total BCX) have different fuel generation values, as usual adding fuel generation stats to higher level cards than staking lower BCX level cards.
- Card Foil - The foil of a Card also determines how much fuel it will generate, where gold foil cards of the same type will earn a way higher amount of Fuel than regular foil cards.
Now, as it is revealed clearly, Players must carefully choose which cards to stake in order to optimise their fuel output, but they also have to keep their top performance cards aside from staking to use them for playing. Since staking removes cards from immediate use, like using them for races, it is important to possess a decent collection of cards in hand and find a balance between staking for fuel and keeping your favorite cards always available for races.
Mechanics To Focus
Minimum Staking Time and Cooldown
- On Moonkarts, cards must be staked for a minimum period of time to generate fuel.
- Removing a card early will trigger a cooldown period, preventing its immediate use in races.
I would suggest waiting at least 6 hours and always claim fuel before unsticking or redesigning your cards in Auto Vault.
Fuel Generation Formula
The total fuel production, which is located in the Auto Vault tab, shows the current per-day Fuel generation, which is calculated based on the combined generation rates of all staked cards.
Players should optimise their staking choices by considering their card’s Fuel Generation stats and should also focus when choosing cards for racing for the racing setup’s overall fuel needs.
Scripts Requirement & Auto Vault Upgrades
When the Game is released, Players must have staked at least 10 Script tokens to activate fuel generation.
However, right now, to activate fuel generation on your staked card, it requires you to stake 2 Scripts per card slot.
As announced, long-term upgrades to the Auto Vault can be made by staking Scripts and COLONY tokens to increase the total fuel production capacity.
What is Fuel?
In order to race through the asphalt neon tracks of Moonkarts and compete against other players from across the world, a player must also have Fuel, an in-game item to race in Multiplayer mode. It is the only key resource that powers races in Moonkarts and can be earned through staking cards with script tokens. Every time a player enters a multiplayer race, a certain amount of fuel is consumed based on the total racing setup’s type, rarity, and level of the cards used. Without enough fuel, players cannot enter a multiplayer race slot, which obviously makes Fuel one of the most crucial elements in the game. Since fuel is not tradable but I think it will be transferable to other players, players must plan their fuel consumption and generate fuel carefully to maintain a steady supply while continuing to progress in races by having good cards in hand.
After being Claimed, Fuel is automatically stored in the player’s fuel reserves, but it has a maximum storage limit. If the Fuel reserve gets full, any additional fuel generated by the player will be lost. Please keep this rule in mind and claim your fuel from time to time because it makes fuel management a vital aspect of gameplay, Also, players must balance their racing activity and fuel generation effectively to avoid any Fuel wastage or sacrificing good playable cards to stake.
Players can generate fuel by simply staking their cards with Script tokens, as I said above and the amount of fuel earned depends on the rarity, level and foil type of those staked cards. Here, just as usual, the higher rarity cards provide a greater fuel yield, so strategically selecting the right cards to stake is essential.
Upgrade Cards for More Fuel
You should also know that merging cards can increase their fuel generation potential. The stronger and more upgraded a card is, the more fuel it will generate when staked with Script tokens. This gives players an incentive, or rather a buy-back value to invest and merge better cards to high level, as they not only improve race performance when used but also contribute more stats to fuel reserves.
Since fuel is a limited resource, efficient management is key to sustaining long-term racing participation. To avoid wasting the hard-earned generated fuel, players should frequently participate in multiplayer races and check that their fuel reserves do not exceed the storage limit. So I think it is better to invest in better cards, which improve fuel efficiency by increasing the amount of fuel produced through staking.
