Hello everyone, Welcome to my Splinterlands Social Media Challenge post. In this post, I will talk about the Divine Shield Ability and Holy Protection Ruleset, my favorite attack strategy against Divine Shield, and more, as well as an amazing battle. I hope it will be useful for you.
The first time Units with the Divine Shield Ability take damage it is ignored; in other words, Divine Shield ignores all damage once, but then the Divine Shield is destroyed.
All retaliatory abilities such as Blast, Magic Reflect, Thorns, Return Fire, Corrosive Ward, and Backfire remove Divine Shield. Additionally, Units with the Shatter Ability will shatter their targets' armor, even if they have the Divine Shield Ability. Meanwhile, Divine shield will be re-applied when a Unit with the Divine Shield ability is resurrected.
Divine Shield Ability is not a complicated ability but it is a very useful ability in battles. Units with Divine Shield Ability do not take damage when they are first attacked which can give you the necessary opening to destroy your opponent, which is exactly why I like this ability so much. It's really useful when used with a good strategy, and it's incredibly useful especially in the lower leagues, I can say that it was the ability I used the most especially in the Bronze league when I first started in Splinterlands. I can say that it helped me a lot in winning many of my battles.
With the Eternal Tofu and Lorna Shine summoners, you can grant the Divine Shield Ability to Units on your team. Lorna Shine grants Divine Shield Ability to all friendly Units, but Eternal Tofu can grant Divine Shield Ability to 3 Units. However, when we consider the other abilities that Eternal Tofu has, Eternal Tofu is a much more powerful summoner and you can equip your team much better with it.
Meanwhile, in battles with the Holy Protection ruleset, all Units have the Divine Shield Ability.
When all Units on the opposing team have Divine Shield, attacking them in a scattered manner may not be very useful, meaning targeting different units can make them harder to destroy and give the opposing team the necessary opening to win the battle, which is why I prefer not to attack in a scattered manner against Divine Shield. Instead, in my attack strategy I only target one enemy, in other words I aim to destroy only one enemy at a time, and I usually target the enemy in the first position. This attack strategy works better for my team and makes it much easier to destroy enemies, and I usually prefer units with magic attacks. I can say that I was able to win many battles with this strategy.
Let's examine a battle that I think will be good examples of what I said above.
- Blood and Sunder: All units have Corrosive Ward (-2 to attacker’s armor and maximum armor when hit by a melee attack).
- Holy Protection: All units have Divine Shield (ignores all damage once, after which the Divine Shield is destroyed).
- Might Makes Right: You can only summon units with 3 or more ranged, magic, or melee power.
According to the ruleset of the battle, all Units will have the Corrosive Ward Abilityand Divine Shield Ability, and can only summon units with 3 or more ranged, magic, or melee power.
Since all Units will have Divine Shield in this battle, I added Units to my team that will target the enemy in the first position. (I explained why above, please see above). So every time they will attack to destroy the enemy in the first position. I also knew that armor and speed would be very useful in this battle, so I chose Kelya Frendul as the Summoner so that all Units in my team will have +1 armor and +1 speed.
I put Commander Slade with Enfeeble and Dodge Ability in the first position. Commander Slade has a chance to evade melee and ranged attacks and reduces the target's melee power by -1 after each successful attack. I also added Units with 3 Magic Attacks to my team, my goal was to deal serious damage to enemies' health with their powerful attacks. I also added Swamp Spitter to my team because I wanted to include the Repair Ability in my lineup. And finally, just in case, I included the Fury Ability in my lineup, considering that the opposing player might have the Taunt Ability in their lineup.
In fact, the opposing team was much more powerful than my team, and also most of the Units on the opposing team were at max level. Honestly, I already knew that I would be fighting against a very powerful team, but that wasn't a big problem because I had full confidence that my strategy would work well, and it did. The opposing player's preference for Sneak and Opportunity abilities made my team's job easier, and the opposing player's attack strategy gave my team more than enough the necessary opening to destroy the enemies.
Sneak Ability targets the last position, while Opportunity Ability targets the units with the lowest health. And other Units in the opposing team targeted the first position in my team. On the other hand, all Units in my team only targeted the enemy in the first position, meaning they focused on destroying the enemy that took the first position every time, thanks to this, my team managed to win the battle against a very powerful team, which is exactly why this is my favorite attack strategy against Divine Shield.
The battle lasted 6 rounds. Fighting against powerful teams is not easy at all, but on the other hand, it is not difficult to defeat them with a good strategy, this battle was an example of that. In short, my attack strategy worked pretty well in this battle so it's my favorite strategy in this type of battle. In conclusion, I find it more effective to target the same enemy every time against the Divine Shield, and my attack strategy against Divine Shield works well most of the time and helps me win most of them, even helping me defeat very powerful teams, which is what happened in the battle above.
