Hello everyone, Welcome to my Splinterlands Social Media Challenge post. In this post, I will be talking about the Piercing Ability and more, as well as an amazing battle. I hope it will be useful for you.
- Piercing Ability : If Melee or Ranged attack damage is in excess of the target's Armor, the remainder will damage the target's Health.
No matter how powerful the Melee and Ranged Attack Monsters attack, they must first destroy the armor of their target, meaning they do not damage the health of armored enemies, but if the attack damage of Melee and Ranged Attack Monsters with the Piercing Ability is in excess of the target's armor, the remainder will damage the target's health. Piercing Ability help to get through your opponent's front line and opens their team up for devastation.
In short, Melee and Ranged Attack Monsters with the Piercing Ability pierce through the enemies' armor and attack their health directly. It is one of my favorite abilities and I can say that it can be very effective in many battles and much more effective when used with a good strategy. Especially in Equal Opportunity, Melee Mayhem and Super Sneak Rulesets where Melee Attack Monsters can attack from any position, it is my most used ability, and I don't hesitate to add more Monsters with Piercing Ability to my team when I have the chance. Also, in such battles, I definitely include the Inspire Ability in my lineup so that the Melee Attack Monsters can attack more powerfully, because the Inspire Ability gives all friendly Monsters +1 Melee attack.
Armor is really useful against Melee and Ranged Attacks, but it is helpless against Piercing Ability, so I love using this ability against armored enemies, It especially helps me a lot in overturning my opponents' strategy based on Armor.
Conqueror Jacek, Elias Max Pruitt and Qid Yuff are summoners with Piercing. Conqueror Jacek and Qid Yuff can grant the Piercing Ability to all friendly Units, while Elias Max Pruitt can only grant the Piercing Ability to one friendly Unit. All three are really powerful but unfortunately I don't have these cards but I will buy Elias Max Pruitt and Conqueror Jacek cards in the future.
Let's examine a battle that I think will be a good example of some of what I said above.
- Equal Opportunity: All units have Opportunity (targets the enemy unit with the least health).
- Taking Sides: You cannot summon neutral units.
According to the ruleset of the battle, all Monsters will have the Opportunity Ability, and Neutral Units cannot be summoned.
Units with the Opportunity Ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Unit with the lowest health, so I determined my strategy accordingly. I knew that Piercing Ability would be very useful in this battle, so I added 3 Monsters with Piercing Ability to my team without hesitation. I also included the Inspire Ability in my lineup so they can attack their targets more powerfully. I specifically put Monsters with low Health in the last positions, while those with higher Health in the front positions. I also gave great importance to adding Monsters with both high attack power and high speed to my team, as I believed that in addition to attacking the enemies powerfully in this battle, being faster would also be very useful. Also, I chose Helios Matriarch as the Summoner so all Monsters on my team will have +1 speed.
Round 1
Especially Coastal Sentry and Isgald Vorst's attacks were really brutal, they destroyed Iziar, who had 1 Armor and 14 health, at the beginning of the first round, although it was brought back with the Resurrect Ability, it could not avoid being destroyed a second time.
Round 2
Even though all the Monsters on the opposing team had armor, they were helpless against the Piercing Ability, and in the second round, 3 more Monsters on the opposing team were destroyed. The opposing team also had the Repair Ability, but it didn't work very well, because as seen in this battle, being armored doesn't help much against the Piercing Ability.
Round 3
In the third round, the last 2 Monsters on the opposing team were destroyed and my team managed to win the battle quite easily.
The battle only lasted 3 rounds and at the end of the battle, all Monsters on the opposing team were destroyed while 5 Monsters on my team were still alive, clearly showing how well my strategy worked in the battle and how useful the Piercing Ability was. The attacks of Monsters with Piercing Ability can be really effective in battles as long as they do not miss their targets, so I recommend that you minimize the chance of them missing their targets with your strategy. On the other hand, to prevent them from being effective, if you increase their chances of missing their targets, we can protect your team against them. You can increase the miss chance of Melee and Ranged Attack Monsters by increasing the speed of Monsters on your team, reducing the speed of Monsters on the opposing team, and with abilities such as Flying, Blind, and Dodge. I recommend watching the battle so you can see how useful the Piercing Ability is in battles.
