This contest today will help us bring out the romanticism that is inside us.
In Italy we have one of the most beautiful love stories in the world, Romeo and Juliet, a tragedy by William Shakespeare composed towards the end of 1500. This is not what I wanted to talk about, but the love story that deserves to be told for me is the story of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai. A legend known as The Butterfly Lovers. A story that highlights the strength of love, when it manifests itself it is a disruptive force, impossible to stop because it goes beyond what is human and this story or legend for me is the most beautiful love story ever.
I will try to summarize this love story that deserves to be told once again.
I divide the story into three parts:
1-Meeting
2-The obstacles
3-The tragedy and the transformation
A love story that deserves to be told
1-Meeting
Zhu Yingtai is a young girl who disguises herself as a man in order to study at a time when education for women was limited. During this period she meets a boy named Liang Shanbo. They get to know each other and a friendship is born between the two.
2-The obstacles
The friendship between Zhu Yingtai (the girl in disguise) and Liang Shanbo (the boy) turns into love. They face the obstacle of the disguise and the rigid beliefs and traditions of the time. Something that went absolutely against reason, but at the time impossible to overcome. The worst comes when Zhu Yingtai's (the girl's) family decides to marry her off to another boy.
3-The tragedy and the transformation
Liang Shanbo, the boy, can't bear the pain of not being able to see his beloved Zhu Yingtai again. Nothing can stop the conventions and traditions of their community. He knows very well that he won't be able to live his life with Zhu Yingtai and after days of suffering his heart gives out and he dies.

It's right now that this story, in my opinion, becomes the most beautiful love story in the world because it manages to explain the strength of this feeling.
Zhu Yingtai, the girl, learns of the death of her beloved. She too can no longer be herself and completely desperate, in one of the usual visits to the tomb of her beloved, she throws herself inside.
Those who witnessed the event immediately went to the tomb to recover the girl, but she was no longer there. Suddenly, those who were there saw two wonderful butterflies emerge from the tomb that began to flutter in the air and disappear into the sky.
According to legend, their souls unite and transform into butterflies, symbolizing eternal love that goes beyond earthly life. So it will be when a person we love leaves us, we will not be able to stop loving them.
Note: this legend also inspired one of the most beautiful sculptures in the world (again in my opinion), below in the photo you can see a reproduction that can be admired in Verona (the city of love)
This sculpture is an expression of love, freedom and union. Each of the protagonists has a butterfly wing that is used to be able to fly and travel together.
Conclusions
The Butterfly Lovers is for me the most beautiful love poem in the world, a legend that is little known in Italy. With this contest I had the opportunity to introduce it to you and I hope you liked it. In my opinion, the message that true love goes beyond earthly life finds its maximum expression in this legend

Questo conest oggi ci aiuterà a tirar fuori il romanticismo che è dentro di noi.
Noi in Italia possediamo uno dei racconti d’amore più belli del mondo, Romeo e Giulietta, una tragedia di William Shakespeare composta verso la fine del 1500. Non è di questo però di cui volevo parlare, ma la storia d’amore che merita di essere raccontata per me è la storia di Liang Shanbo e Zhu Yingtai. Una leggenda conosciuta come The Butterfly Lovers. Una storia che rimarca la forza dell’amore, quando si manifesta è una forza dirompente, impossibile da fermare perché va oltre a ciò che è umano e questo racconto o leggenda per me è il più bel racconto d’amore in assoluto.
Provo a riassumere questa storia d’amore che merita di essere raccontata ancora una volta.
Divido il racconto in tre parti:
1-Incontro
2-Gli ostacoli
3-La tragedia e la trasformazione
Una storia d'amore che merita di essere raccontata
1-Incontro
Zhu Yingtai è una giovane ragazza che si traveste da uomo per poter studiare in un epoca in cui l’istruzione per le donne era limitata. Durante questo periodo incontra un ragazzo di nome Liang Shanbo. Si conoscono e tra i due nasce un rapporto di amicizia.
2-Gli ostacoli
L’amicizia tra Zhu Yingtai (la ragazza travestita) e Liang Shanbo (il ragazzo) si trasforma in amore. Davanti a loro hanno l'ostacolo del travestimento e delle rigide convinzioni e tradizioni dell’epoca. Qualcosa che andava assolutamente contro la ragione, ma a suo tempo impossibile da scavalcare. Il peggio arriva quando la famiglia di Zhu Yingtai (la ragazza) decide di darla in sposa ad un altro ragazzo.
3-La tragedia e la trasformazione
Liang Shanbo, il ragazzo, non riesce a sopportare il dolore di non poter più rivedere la sua amata Zhu Yingtai. Nulla potrà fermare le convenzioni e le tradizioni della loro comunità. Sa benissimo che non potrà vivere la sua vita con Zhu Yingtai e dopo giorni di sofferenza il suo cuore cede e muore.

Vi è piaciuta?
Scherzo.
E’ proprio ora che questo racconto, secondo me, diventa il racconto d’amore più bello del mondo perchè riesce a spiegare la forza di questo sentimento.
Zhu Yingtai, la ragazza, viene a conoscenza della morte del suo amato. Anche lei non riesce più ad essere se stessa e completamente disperata, in una delle consuete visite alla tomba del proprio amato, si getta all’interno.
Chi assistette all’accaduto andò subito sulla tomba per recuperare la ragazza, ma lei non c’era più. All’improvviso chi era lì ha visto uscire dalla tomba due meravigliose farfalle che iniziarono a volteggiare nell'aria ed a sparire nel cielo.
Secondo la leggenda, le loro anime si uniscono e si trasformano in farfalle, simboleggiando l’amore eterno che va oltre la vita terrena. Così sarà quando una persona che amiamo se ne andrà, non potremo smettere di amarla.
Nota: questa leggenda ha dato ispirazione anche ad una delle sculture più belle del mondo (sempre secondo me), qui sotto in foto vedete una riproduzione che si può ammirare a Verona (città dell’amore)
Questa scultura è espressione di amore, libertà ed unione. Ognuno dei protagonisti possiede un ala di farfalla che serve per poter volare e fare il viaggio insieme.
Conclusioni
The Butterfly Lovers è per me il più bel poema d’amore del mondo, una leggenda poco conosciuta in Italia. Con questo contest ho avuto l’occasione di farvela conoscere e spero che vi sia piaciuta. Secondo me, il messaggio che l'amore vero va oltre alla vita terrena trova la sua massima espressione in questa leggenda

Oh che bella, non conoscevo questa leggenda, ma credo che ci sia un'opera classica su questa storia, non me la ricordo bene ma credo che sia questa per il fatto delle farfalle, ma credo che il padre imprigionava la figlia in un bellissimo giardino ma il finale è talmente tragico.
Ma mi fa ricordare la Metamorfosi di Ovidio, quel classico latino di leggende mitologiche, ci sono diversi episodi, uno dove Dafne diventa un albero di lauro, o quello di Piramo e Tisbe, lui pensa che una leonessa avesse ammazzato la amata Tisbe e si ammazza lui, quando lei esce dal nascondiglio e vede ciò che è successo anche lei si ammazza... queste storie di amore drammatico sembra che siano sempre immortale proprio come l'amore.

La leggenda che racconto è conosciuta al mondo occidentale come The Butterfly Lovers. Peró nel mondo orientale esistono versioni diverse. La bellezza di quella leggenda è esagerata, tonto è vero che ha ispirato anche una di quelle che io ritengo tra le sculture più belle al mondo. La riproduzione è quella che vedi nel post. L’originale è gigante e posizionata in un giardino immenso e meraviglioso.

Anche in oriente hanno dei bei poemi romantici, tra l’altro Ghe Butterlfy Lovers ha anche diverse versioni. La Cina è talmente grande che non è arrivata uguale dappertutto
