RE: What Do You Want from Life?

So freaking true! I've already seen some showing up in my timeline. I try to not get sucked into it. Because these "accomplishment posts" are created without any context, some of them could be false, which will make it 10X times worse for myself, thinking I've failed miserably this year compared to person X or Y.

I think taking a time out, to reflect deeper on all the experiences of the year, the wins, the losses and everything in between could be a better way to assess how well or not so well we did individually in 2024.

Sort:

I think these accomplishments posts really do not have any form of good intentions like you've said. They could be false, well they're mostly false. Sometimes you read someone's stuff talking about how they've done so much and only within such a limited timeframe. Of course they could be false, but sometimes we don't consider the falsehood most of the time.

The readers just wishes that they could be like these people without even considering whether the poster was lying

Yes, our brains completely bypass that process that it could be false. Arguably, most posts like that are just seeking external validation for something they wished to achieve :)
