I think crypto is primarily an incentive driven game and when the future prospects, especially in terms of price are not looking good, people will look for something to blame just to ease the pain. I can understand where Vitalik is coming from with his recent style of tweets lol, even some top VCs have lost hope in Ethereum, stating that it lacks a North Star.

His tweets shows frustration. People wants him to move the market by doing something to beat the competition, but I'm sure he's working hard and cannot control how other chains are moving. Competition can be scary
Exactly, the competition has almost caught up onto Ethereum and its capturing many of the new users coming into the space as of recently. Hopefully, the OG users/natives of the space wouldn't abandon Ethereum at this point in time.
