The Blue Lagoon

Sadly I have reached the final step of my trip. The last place I could visit within the 24h trip I wanted to do for my birthday. So after I have left St Davids Head, trip that you could see in my previous post, I have then jumped again in my car looking desperately for a take away as the hunger was quite strong and the only thing I had in my car was Water and Crisps.

I drove up and down for 3 villages and sadly everything was closed. It was 4 pm and I couldn't find anything at all. I decided anyway to ignore my hunger and to go and visit the blue lagoon in Abereiddi, Wales.

How actually this lagoon has formed?

Googling it and reading the info card done by National Trust, the Blue Lagoon has an industrial past. It was once a working slate quarry, providing slate for local houses and buildings. The National Trust say slate that was extracted from Abereiddi was transported by tramway to the neighbouring Porthgain Habour and shipped out.

Can you Swim in here?

Well apparently this pool has a very calm water as you can imagine from the name and it is deep few meters infact it has been used in different cliff competition done by Redbull as you can see from this video found on youtube.

My Experience

Well once I drove there, there was almost nobody, a part a young couple that had in mind to swim into the lagoon. I mean... crazy... even if you have the wetsuit on, it would be crazy cold for me to jump in.

The funny part of it was... I was walking and the couple was walking faster... they took position on the beach by the pool, the girl started running to do a quick wee in front of me... ok slightly shocked but ok... then they started underdressing always in front of me... ok they were removing the clothes to put the wetsuit on, I would even understand that... but then she removed everything... even the underwear to put the swim suit underneath the wetsuit. Ok I was then shocked as she was literally naked in front of me and if after few days I am still talking about it, it will make understand how shocked I was, probably a pleased shocking but I wouldn't expect to see that on my birthday LOL.

After few shots, not of the girl just to clarify, I went back to my car to find a place where to eat, and lucky me I found a fish and chips where I would buy the food I wanted to eat on the beach side.

I was tired and it was getting colder so grabbed the food I stopped in a car park with an amazing view and I ate it with seagulls that were begging for food, crows fighting with them and my hunger that was saying don't eve dare to leave 1 single chip.

On the way back home then I had to stop on the coast side to admire the sunset and this is the final pic I would like to share with you for this amazing trip 😍.
