Where is it? Can you guess?

I know that I myself am not very good at this kind of game, but I also know that there are experts in guessing places here. That's why I tried to make the task more difficult :) And I also believe in luck! I have one hint for you: this is NOT Iceland.

Just a reminder to everyone who hasn't guessed yet, once again: in the post, I mentioned that this is NOT Iceland :)

ha! another vivid evidence how much folks care to spend their precious lifetime on reading the other's posts. everybody is an author, argh... 😁

PS.

This happens :)

Ah, sorry my bad. I know it's too late now, but I did read your post and wanted to guess New Zealand actually, but still typed Iceland somehow😆. I have impressions about your travel posts in both countries and even checked pinmapple to confirm... will double check my reply next time!

Yes, it happens. It's ok, better luck next time :)

I seen enough black sand beaches to now want to go on a beach. I thought this will be possible to find but... And there is a problem, you are almost worse then @intrepidphotos for this where is it game. You people were everywhere 😂

so i have no idea.

Tenerife, canary islands

I'm sorry :) It was so difficult for me to strike a balance between what is easy to find and what is almost impossible to find. However, this place is visible on Google Street View. Well, at least I'm almost worse, not exactly worse :))
Actually, not everywhere - so many new places for me are yet to come, I hope :) Last year I wanted to go to Serbia, for example, but I couldn't - and you have a lot of beautiful places there that I wanted to photograph.

yes the "where is it" is hard to balance. i felt when i saw the photo that there is a chance i will find it. When i see where it is i will probably see that i could have.

It is also a fun game.

yap, last few years sucked for travel. Serbia was pretty ok when you entered it, but to get in there was all over the place with rules and what was implemented.

Well, it was Italy :)) I told everything in a separate comment.

for some reason it had the feel of Europe. i was looking at Greece and some Italy islands.

You should have chosen one of them, your instinct did not deceive you :)

You people were everywhere

yes... exactly. no chance to deduce from the posts. and since I did not visited myself 99,9999% of all these intresting places - the field for bling guessing is 99999,99 (in period)

🤪

!BEER

i thought that sand could be enough of the clue to somehow manage to find the place, after good amount of all kinds of searching i got back to guessing :D

hehe... just blind guessing, yes. the Earth has too many volcanic sites, simple as that 😁
!BEER

my guess was its Chile, but later I have read the comments, you're the second one who mentioned Tenerife... and now I consider it more probable too.

Faroe Islands 🤞

Congrats on your win! 🥇
Despite the fact that place form the photo was in Italy (Moletto di Levanto in the town of Levanto in the region of Liguria), the Faroe Islands turned out to be the closest to it, with a gap of several hundred kilometers from the next closest location! :)

Ouch ....quite disappointed as an Italian guy to have missed by so many km :)

Well, no one can know absolutely all the corners of even their own country :)
Next season, I hope I will be able to pick up a photo with the right balance of recognition so that it still can be found :) However, this season we do not have here the most successful specialist in such games @r00sj3, so we will not know if she could master this task as well.

I don't think I would have ever found this one... There is no reference to it on your Instagram, the black sand isn't that black on satellite images on Google, and (I quickly checked) it looks like you haven't blogged about this either.

I tried my best to cover my tracks :))
In fact, I only recently started mass processing photos from a trip to Italy, so I chose it. Well, it seems I can make it hard for everyone to win :)

my congratulations! how did you manage to crack this (hard) nut?..

Let's say Tenerife.
#toohard

a good choice! never have been there, too. 😂

hahahha!

Playa de Fañabé

Well, I admit, apparently, the photo for this game was too complicated. But nevertheless, there is still a winner - I look at the nearest place from those named.
The place in the photo is called Moletto di Levanto in the town of Levanto in the region of Liguria, Italy. Here is the exact location. As you can see from the photos on the map and on Google Street View here or here, the rocks, sand and pebbles on the beach are not black but mostly dark grey. But you may have seen more than once that when wet, such stones darken almost to black, especially without the light of the sun. Therefore, in my photo, taken, I think, at low tide, they turned out to be deceptively black, as if hinting at classic volcanic beaches, for example, in Iceland :) In addition, a well-chosen angle created the illusion of a rather deserted beach. Our eyes and our consciousness sometimes deceive us :)

So, the Faroe Islands turned out to be the closest of the named places or countries to this beach. Congratulations to @asgarth! Unfortunately, I have not been there yet, but this is one of those places where I really want to visit. Hopefully someday :)

Many thanks to all who participated for your guesses! The bonus for the exact location goes towards my next two games.

I'm gonna with the iconic black sand beaches of Ice....just kidding.
My official guess is somewhere along the Khalaktyrsky beach of the Pacific at Kamchatka peninsula, near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia or maybe just on that Peninsula somewhere. I couldn't find any jetty's like the photo.

Good joke :) The funny thing is that in terms of distance from the beach in Italy (where I actually took this photo), after the victorious Faroe Islands, Iceland would be the closest guess :))

in the same way, I could hint it is not the Black sea, either...
the black sand with quite visible size pebbles.
my blind guess this place belong to the South America continent... Chile, maybe?

Very cool shot! I'll go for Canada.

Alas, I have not been to Canada, although I would be glad to have such a trip. It's hard to recognize Italy in this photo, isn't it? :)

Yes indeed. Although for me this game is always difficult. Especially without buildings on it

Actually, for me too :)

Iceland

It's funny, but if the Faroe Islands had not been mentioned, of all the named places, Iceland would be the closest to Italy :))

I say Iceland too because of black sand.

I tell you for sure that this is not Iceland. Just because I mentioned it in the post. Perhaps I should have highlighted it somehow?... I'm sorry it wasn't noticeable. In any case, good luck in the next games! :)

Ahh damn, I missed this one.

Oh, this deceptively black sand :)
It's funny, but if the Faroe Islands had not been mentioned, of all the named places, Iceland would be the closest to Italy. I don’t even know how I would award the prize to the Iceland :))

El Bollullo, Tenerife, Canary Island, Spain

It was a great guess for the black sand, but the Italian dark gray wet sand fooled everyone :)
