Hey lovely people of Hive

I get very little engagement in here. Are you to shy to talk to me.

Come on, tell me a bit about yourself.

I promise I won't bite...

Welcome to Hive blockchain and the social media dApps which use it. It can take a while to figure out things here, but you're already doing better than I had after one month. I'm an 80s kid in New York still trying to figure things out here, especially since there's more here now than in 2021 when I came here.

Hive doesn't have the numbers of IG or even Tumblr, but it has enough people to engage with us. We just have to find them first. Not everyone uses or even knows about LikeTu, so we need to go where the people are.

If you haven't had a chance to browse through communities, take a bit of time to visit https://ecency.com/communities to see what's out there for you. There should be a few communities for photography and for modeling. While you're at it, join a few other communities which make sense for you. Let people in those communities get used to seeing your name, and after a while some people will engage with you.

Posts on Hive can take up to 10 tags. The 1st tag is for the community, the next 4 or 5 are for topics, and the remainder can be used for earning tokens or as extra topic tags. These tags will help your posts (and LikeTu content) appear in searches and filters.

It was 2 months before I had any kind of engagement, but once I figured out those points, there was enough engagement to keep me here. You're already ahead of me in that regard, so now it's just a matter of kicking it up a notch.

The more you discover about Hive blockchain and its dApps, the more you can do with it using targeted content.

I wish you well on your quest to find more engagement, more rewarding experiences, and more rewards. 😎

Thank you so much magnacarta

This is so helpful. I love DIY and there are 2 communities for that 😃

I should also be active in actifit because you know, a girl has to work to stay in shape.

Oh and I can post some short form video content on 3speak.

So many other things to do on Hive.

I might try out Splinterlands. I am a bit of a TCG girlie at heart

Thanks
Angie

You're welcome! Reply to as many comments as you can with comments which add value (i.e., minimize the "Me too"-type 2-word comments). That's how fellow Hivers get familiar with your name.

Actifit would be perfect for you. Nearly all the posts include photos, and you can include photos which simultaneously fit in the community and display your form in action. Just don't wear "I give up" sweats or a burlap sack when you do your Actifit photos.

Many Hivers you wouldn't expect also play Splinterlands. That's definitely a way to get noticed here. Some players even post about their experiences playing the game. Those who do well in the game also use it to finance their other Hive activities. I don't know enough to assist in either, but there are plenty of people who do.

(Splinterlands cosplay? I don't know if that's a thing, but maybe it can become one!)

Good luck on your Hive journey. I hope you enjoy the communities you join.

Engagement , as far as comments are pretty low on most posts, my guess is that most interfaces, like liketu, don't constantly send you notifications which keeps people from coming back to it. Though I understand it, its strange that people don't comment more on Hive since you can earn rewards from the comments as well. But you know, "Out of Sight, Out of Mind."

As for me, I'm a Game / App developer from the US. I'm huge into open source and the ideals that it stands for. I like to reading short stories and various blog posts here on the hive (usually on peakd), big into Origami, love nature and beauty, and I'm comfortable most any place. I'm currently working on making a hive plugin for Godot (the game engine I use) and toying around with some ideas that I got inspiration from you @angelinecleon in an earlier post of yours. Of course I also have a game in heavy development so I'm constantly posting about it.

What else... been around Hive since it's beginning and on steem (don't use steem the company that bought it can't be trusted) before that. I think we're about to see a Renaissance here. If not in huge price increases, but great content and new exciting apps. Seeing new users like yourself on the chain (and doing well) gives me hope.

I read in your other comment that you are / were into TCG. Any other geeky hobbies?

Ooooh tell me about your game. What project did you take inspiration from me on?

I also feel that this could be the start of something. It just needs mass adoption and the crowds will flock here.

I totally geek out on fantasy novels. I am currently reading the cradle series

Ooooh tell me about your game.

My primary project is called "Angular Velocity" it's an eSports game set in the distant future. Still early days, but its starting to take shape. link to one of my posts. I'm hoping to use it as an example of how to use the Hive blockchain for games outside of the usual NFT or play to earn models that everyone is used to. I have a few other projects on my blog if you care to learn more. It's pretty random over there so watch your step.

What project did you take inspiration from me on?

As far as inspiration, in one of your earlier posts you had talked about wanting to setup your own site, have fan only content, and maybe even starting your own business (recruiting others, having your own token, etc.) I thought it was a great idea, and bound to be successful if designed by, and catering to those, that use it (basically you :) ). Anyway, that got me thinking about a similar issue I've had in the past with a former project. See I was working on this app called Thicket it was going to be a Steam like interface for games, videos, music, etc. using the Hive blockchain and other web3 softwares on the back end to give those that use the software more ways to earn and give them a sense of ownership among other things

I think there is something that could be created that services both ideas and could really be a great addition to our favorite blockchain. There are of course hurdles, but the greater the challenge the sweeter the reward and all that.

I totally geek out on fantasy novels. I am currently reading the cradle series

I had to do a quick search on the book series, it does look good! I've been needing to get back into reading more. I get far too obsessed with books though, and often neglect important things when I start something I'm really into.
