know I just said that I'm looking forward to Christmas. But my friends from my Erasmus semester abroad in Cádiz are coming to visit me in Cologne for carnival at the weekend. Last month we had our reunion in Zadar Croatia and so I wanted to show some impressions of the trip here. Unfortunately there were only 5 of us as 3 of the girls couldn't come with us. Croatia (or Zadar) is a mixture of Germany and Spain. You have the Mediterranean feeling of Spain but there are lots of German stores. The food was great, the people were very nice and we loved it. Our highlight was the "sea organ", which is a small staircase that protrudes into the sea and there are pipes underneath. The wind makes it sound like a beautiful melody playing. It was so nice to see my Erasmus friends again and it's always sad when you don't know when you'll see each other again. My friends are spread all over Germany, England and France, so unfortunately it's not so easy to meet up. That's why I'm so happy that they're coming back tonight and that we're celebrating carnival together on Saturday. I'm really looking forward to showing them everything, because they don't even know it. Everyone has heard of carnival before, but the fact that it is celebrated on 11.11 in Cologne and the surrounding area was a shock for them. I hope they like it and come back for the real carnival in spring! I’m gonna keep you updated, see you soon 🥰
Ya sé que acabo de decir que estoy deseando que llegue la Navidad. Pero mis amigos de mi semestre Erasmus en Cádiz vienen a visitarme a Colonia el fin de semana de carnaval. El mes pasado tuvimos nuestro reencuentro en Zadar Croacia y por eso quería mostrar aquí algunas impresiones del viaje. Desafortunadamente solo fuimos 5 ya que 3 de las chicas no pudieron venir con nosotros. Croacia (o Zadar) es una mezcla de Alemania y España. Tienes la sensación mediterránea de España pero hay muchas tiendas alemanas. La comida era estupenda, la gente muy amable y nos encantó. Lo más destacado fue el "órgano del mar", que es una pequeña escalera que sobresale en el mar y tiene tubos por debajo. El viento hace que suene una bonita melodía. Fue muy agradable volver a ver a mis amigos Erasmus y siempre es triste cuando no sabes cuándo te volverás a ver. Mis amigos están repartidos por toda Alemania, Inglaterra y Francia, así que por desgracia no es tan fácil quedar. Por eso estoy tan contenta de que vuelvan esta noche y de que celebremos juntos el carnaval el sábado. Tengo muchas ganas de enseñárselo todo, porque ni siquiera lo conocen. Todo el mundo ha oído hablar alguna vez del carnaval, pero el hecho de que se celebre el 11.11 en Colonia y alrededores fue un shock para ellos. Espero que les guste y que vuelvan para el carnaval de verdad en primavera. Hasta pronto 🌞
