Mussels with saffron
I went to dinner and it was a special night. I decided on mussels. They were made with saffron and cream. It was cooked in white wine and it was heavenly. I love mussels. We have them here in Zeeland. In Europe the Dutch mussels are famous and it's an export product for us.
The taste is zilt, soft and creamy and I never tasted it like this. I asked the recipe and it's 1 kilo mussels washed and cooked in white wine ( he said three bottles ! ) I don't know if that was true. For a restaurant that sounds great for us customers I think. Than when it is cooking put cream and saffron, salt and pepper to the whole and serve. Pretty easy and I will surely try this in my kitchen.

I am not a fan of seafood due to my taste buds because their taste seems weird to me but looks like you liked the mussels taste.

Unfortunately, mussels are also the best "hoovers" of environmental toxins in the sea.
It always seems with mussels that you have more left over at the end than you started with :) It's always good to have the local seafood.

Wow! This looks divine! Never had mussels cooked with wine before.
I usually cooks mussels with soup or sometimes with butter and garlic or at times just barbecue them.
We have an abundant supply of mussels here in my city too for we live near the ocean.
