I had a friend from Canada who wanted to surprise his girlfriend here in Cebu who lives pretty close to my place. The girlfriend just moved here to look for a job, so my friend wanted to help her by buying her some things for the house. My friend asked me to buy things like pillow, food, bed mattress, water heater etc. After getting those things, I immediately contacted the girlfriend to meet up with me in Zubuchon restaurant because lechon (roasted pig) was her favorite. Ofcourse, a way to a woman's heart is also through the stomach. Hahah
She was like "Did he ask you again to buy stuff for me? I'm so sorry for the hassle." (I did this for them also on Valentine's day and her birthday). I just laughed and said "I gladly want to help!" We had a nice chitchat while eating lechon, grilled squid and crab and aligue fried rice. If I'd rate the food, it was a 6.5 out of 10, the service was great, the price was just standard. After eating, I gave her the things and helped her bring it to her house. I find it a really sweet gesture. It can be pretty tough though having a long distance relationship but they made it work!
