Strong winds yesterday and this morning so went up to the allotment to check all okay .Poor neighbours shed caught the wind.Mine all okay .
Picked a few things while there for New Years day dinner some butternut squash which we roast ,very versatile vegtable some lovely size leeks very pleased with them .Also the faithful Spinach and potatoes.
Some views of my allotment from different angles starting with a little shrubbery, from the bottom up gives a little colour to the allotment .
Pines cones collected from the nearby woodland for decoration and some small pumpkins grown in the allotment for decoration . They are still going srong from Halloween .Soon hard work digging and getting ready for planting but it is rewarding when all starts to grow exciting time of the year.
Our allotments are very cheap to rent you probably would not believe the price, but it is availble for all ages .The village school has a plot and its so good to see all the children being taught about food being grown rather than wrapped up in a shop.

What a great garden @countrysid! It's wonderful that your plants are growing so well for you! I love that the school childen are being taught how to grow their own food! That's so important! Thank you for sharing! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨
