Today I cycled from Minehead to the harbour town of Watchet via the old mineral line
picking this up at Washford .The Old line or path now is about 3/4 miles long
Many years ago it used to run from the brendon hills carrying iron oar to the harbour port of Watchet.
Now as you can see alovely walk or cycle which is interesting and full of wild life .
As you enter the path you are bleased with a lovely flowing river on one side and the west somerset steam railway on the other.
About halfway along you can cross the railway line opening and shuting the gates your self to cross.
not so busy this time of year but in the summer months many more trains so you have to be very alert.
