No short cut.
Covering up the old paint with new paint is like calling myself a believer in Christ without repentance and without allowing my LORD to scrape me clean.
Man can only do this much.... only Jesus can truly scrap off all our sinful past thoroughly. 🙏🏼 #IfWeWereUpcyclingTins
Have you ever felt when you are working on something (usually profoundly creative) and suddenly, you felt as if you get some revelation / enlightenment through the journey you are in?
For me, of course it is a revelation, from my God Almighty that is....
It all started when I tried to be quick to promote the work as from last year, I vowed to get the thrift shop up and ready; but due to busyness, covid and work load, things kept procrastinating as I needed my (at least) 6 hours sleep I wasn't able to squeeze everything done within my waking hours.
And that is where, I compromised to coat the container, without letting it thorouly dry for a few days, and still with around 20% of paint not scraped out.
What I got wasn't a good sight to look at....
The whole tin can has bubbly surface although I was very certain I coated it nicely and smooth before I let it air dry through the night
The other containers which properly scrapped surface and thoroughly dried did not have a side effect this bad.
I ended up having to do DOUBLE WORK , re-scraping the surface, re-coat it with paint and let it dry at least a week before I decide to work on it.
And hence I also learn that the pre-order can't be 2-3 days, it has to be at least 7 days prior and I must prepare the exact same undercoat of the next one the moment the particular base colour is selected to work on.
Also, I can never be able to just cover the old paint with the new paint (which this one seemed acidic)... because if it is not properly treated, the old paint will re-surface and it creates a really ugly finishing.
Just like there is a saying in the Chinese Community where sin cannot be covered up, because one day it will eventually be erupted and reviewed.
No short cut.
I believe that is the case.
I learnt my lesson indeed, but when I was working so hard to scrap everything out, the efford can really be straining and God whispered to me,
Daughter, as much as you want to really cleanse it with your tired hands, without professional tools, you can never be able to get it all out. I AM your tool, and I WILL cleanse out all the iniquity from you way much better than you try to uphold yourself a holy life on your own strength
Sometimes I do know that I tried my hardest to live a proper, validated life, but storms will come and we are always tested, and some times, our worse buried behaviours may resurface due to stress....
And that is why, professional help is a must; for my case, it will be my Hevenly Father.
