After we departed from Cranberry Glades, we hit the road through Hillsboro and drove towards Droop Mountain. I really didn't know what to expect here but trusted that @flowerbaby selected another cool place. I was blown away by how perfect this spot turned out to be for our picnic plans. As you can see, the view from our table was freaking awesome! This location is where the last battle in WV during the Civil War occurred. This lookout tower is a reconstruction of the one that was used during the war. This view allowed soldiers to see what was coming from down below. I think that Droop Mountain was probably a pretty great stronghold, but let's hope it never comes down to Civil War again. Back to this picnic and the view. We ate PB&Js and other yummy snacks to refuel us from the first half of our busy day exploring. After we finished our meal, we took some photos together on the edge of the massive hill that overlooks the rest of the land below. I can say that this is the best place I have ever had a picnic so far and I wouldn't change who I was lucky enough to do this with.
For the best experience view this post on Liketu
Great pics! The view looks amazing and it's an interesting tower with an interesting story. West Virginia has been on my travel list for a while now. I plan to visit the ghost town of Thurmond at some point, maybe camp out and explore a bit. Have you been or heard of it?
Actually yes I have been to Thurmond. It is one of the first places I ever went to with my current girlfriend @flowerbaby. We actually recorded her #IntroduceYourself video there, which has a ton of cool footage of the area included. Here it is if you want to see it. https://peakd.com/hive-174578/@flowerbaby/mrgujtof
The river was raging that day!
Thanks man! I'll give it a watch.
You guys are funny.. you had Nuttella/jelly sandwiches haha!
wtf is in the carton of eggs?
Literally just eggs. I crack them and eat them raw.
Breh!!!! you are savage AF..
Easiest way to get loads of protein & tons of vitamins/minerals.
Nice man! .. I should try it sometime haha!
Looks like an awesome place man! love the history on this stuff. Perfect place to have a picnic that's for sure.
I'm lucky to have enjoyed this place when there wasn't a bloody war happening.
Lol true, it's remarkable how many places have had conflict on them, I would think aside from the polar regions virtually every part of the planet has had one at one point! We like to kill each other that's for sure!
Hahah too true!
Y'all look adorable together and the backdrop is stunninggggg😍
We both thank you so much for the kind comment 🤗
