Santiago de Chile was a city that I did not like at first sight. I have visited it three times and each time I like it more, but the first time not so much.
This trip was in 2012; just after arriving from my trip to the USA. The difference was immense, from all the amazing cities I knew, to a city a bit run down and with streets in disrepair. This was the first thing I saw. After a few days I fell in love with the food and the people.
Another thing that made this trip not ideal was that I had just come from 25 days in the USA and I was very tired; I wanted my home, but I only slept one night in Caracas to take a plane back.
Another thing I didn't like was the pollution. It has a beautiful landscape but it is covered with pollution.
What I did like is its size and its snowy mountains, because I always went in winter and they are imposing. As I said before, the people and the food. Although many now complain about how they have been received as immigrants; I was treated very well, although I know that they are two different contexts and times.
The subway is big, it has many lines and you can move very easily; as long as you don't go during rush hour because you will see crowds of people. It is shocking the amount of people leaving their jobs.

Santiago de Chile fue una ciudad que no me gustó a primera vista. La he visitado tres veces y cada vez me gusta más, pero la primera no tanto.
Este viaje fue en 2012; justo después de llegar de mi viaje a EEUU. La diferencia fue inmensa, de todas las ciudades increíbles que conocí, a una ciudad un poco deteriorada y con calles en mal estado. Esto fue lo primero que vi. Después con los días me enamoro su comida y la gente.
Otra de las cosas que influyeron para que este viaje no fuera el ideal, es que venía de estar 25 días en EEUU y estaba muy cansado; quería mi casa, pero solo dormí una noche en Caracas para volver a tomar un avión.
Algo también que no me gustó fue su contaminación. Tiene un paisaje bellísimo pero que se tapa con la polución.
De lo que me gustó es lo grande y sus montañas nevadas, porque siempre fui en invierno y son imponentes. Como dije antes, la gente y la comida. Aunque muchos se quejan ahora de cómo han sido recibidos inmigrando; a mi me trataron muy bien, aunque sé que son dos contextos y tiempos diferentes.
El metro es grande, tiene muchas líneas y uno se mueve muy fácil; siempre y cuando no vayas en hora punta porque verás mareas de personas. Es impactante la cantidad de gente al salir de sus trabajos.

A primera impresión se nota la contaminación de la ciudad y una mezcla de arquitectura de diferentes épocas. Buenas fotografías, incluso el astigmatismo en la última, hace parecer que las personas se están moviendo.

muy lindas fotos de Santiago tomaste varios lugares muy céntricos , ya hace 4 años que estoy acá y es una ciudad muy diversa y de gran variedad de arquitectura y cultura,
Esa ciudad me fue enamorando poco a poco, no fue a primera vista jajaja
