Before the month of Ramadan arrived, my friends and I took a trip to Geurutee Peak. The peak is a mountainous area located in the south west cross of Aceh, this place is very often used as a stopover for residents who drive to Lamno, Meulaboh City to Southwest Aceh and the causeway to Sumatra Province or vice versa. Many residents stop here because it offers the natural beauty of the ocean and a group of islands in the ocean. I can say, this place is a favorite tourist location for users of this causeway. The name Geurutee Peak itself is taken from the name of the same mountain.
Administratively, this tourist spot is the border between Aceh Jaya District and Aceh Besar District. To get to the location of Geurutee Peak, we have to cover a distance of approximately 75 kilometers or with a travel time of about 1.5 hours. The condition of the road to get here is always uphill and is very well paved. Many roads turn left and right. The road to the Mount Geurutee area can be said to be extreme, because on the right side of the road directly facing a ravine and on the left side of the road there are cliffs that are prone to rain landslides. It should be noted that those who will pass here are advised not to visit when it is raining lightly or heavily. Because it will endanger the safety of the driver's life.
In this area there is a very wide forest to the left of the road and is a forest as the lungs of the world.
Around the Puncak Geurutee area, we will also often meet monkeys who also come to the shops to wait for food which is visited by people who stop at this location. With the presence of these monkeys, it becomes a phenomenon in itself that is awaited. However, our presence at that time there were no monkeys who came here.
Thank you
