RE: My car. First post on LIKETU.

Hi! Thanks for posting.

I recently started thinking about car bloggers because your post prompted me along this track of thought.

They might be financially irresponsible, taking out massive loans to finance their dream car(s), but where there is a lot of risk, there is potentially a lot of reward.

We all know what a Toyota Prius looks like, because they're everywhere. It doesn't make for very interesting "car" content unless the creator does something markedly different with the car beyond driving it. And it's knowing this that the car bloggers take on excessive risk to try capture an audience with their less than common vehicle.

Would I do this? No

Would I recommend doing it? No

Is it financially irresponsible and could result in complete bankruptcy? Yes!

That being said, I completely understand why some youtubers for instance would do this. It's because it's their desire to strive for less common content, which they think would interest more people.

If you have a lambo, that automatically prices out a large number of regular Joe's driving BMWs, Mercs, VWs etc. And that does give you a slight edge when it comes to creating interesting content.

On the other hand, does an expensive car really ensure success? Not at all. It's always going to be a hustle, and a lot of the time, it just won't work out because some people are just fundamentally more interesting than others.

I respect hustle and the willingness to take risks. I'm a risk taker myself. I'm just not one to do it via getting attention for the cars I buy!
