I like to spend time exclusively with the 2 of them especially outdoors. Here is to more adventurous attempts together!

Found a good spot to be near to the playground under a bug tree which shaded us so well.

The boys started their bubble fun immediately after I parked my spot.

After unpacking everything, I sat down to look at them play.

The firstborn requested for a scavenger hunt after he did once with his dad. Good thinking!

My simple instant Aglio Olio with fried egg and some meat.

This boy was so amused by the tree! He would touch and laugh.

I always wanted to lie down on a mat under a tree, not having to care about how time passed.

Us trio did a good job making the picnic successful.

My ever faithful and helpful "servant" - my stroller which helped me carry all of my things.

My son's one-month- school holidays has started and I decided to do something different with them during the holidays and not staying in our routine. Hence for #Wednesdaywalk this week, we

I could finally go a bit slower now that I need not abide by all the chauffeuring duties and timekeeping. So we woke up at 8 something I the morning and I was moving so slow like a sloth that the picnic planned as a breakfast became a picnic lunch!

I cooked some simple food like noodles and rice, packed them up along with some snacks and my favorite coconut sugarcane drink to quench the thirst. The weather prior to this was extremely scorching hot with no rain but thankfully right before this picnic day, it rained.

I chose to go to the Kepong Metropolitan Park which is about 20 t 30 minutes drive away from home.

Simple pleasures, simple fun!

We arrived at the park nearly 12pm with a bright and sunny weather awaiting for us but it was with some breeze, not bad. I decided to just go alone with the 2 boys this time without asking any of our friends to tag along so I can start off the holiday exclusively with them and to bring them to nature.

Fortunately, though most stalls not opened at the park, the bubble rental stall was there. I rented the bubble solution in the tubs and 3 bubble wands for RM5. Children actually possibly need the simple things to be happy. Just this bubble solution managed to entertain my boys for almost the whole time. Sometimes a gale breathed its way on us and we saw the leaves rustling, trees swaying with the psiturism of the rustling leaves. That promoted so much tranquility and serenity in me.

There were only 3 to 4 families having their picnic too besides mine. Everyone were eating under the shade of a big tree, making full use of the shelter. Saw a family finished their lunch and tried to fly a kite, while the children at a playground nearby were having a blast. My secondbirn lives walking on the grass barefooted and he would laugh at the tree when he touched its trunk too.

Scavenger hunt

My firstborn requested for a scavenger hunt so I randomly wrote him a list to look out for. He was pleased and started walking around thinking. While eating his lunch, he also started drawing on his book and after he was done, he took his little brother to the playground to help me keep an eye on him. While they were playing and hunting, I slowly packed up and took some slow breaths to appreciate this moment of slowness.

The firstborn wanted to still hunt for a few items on his list so we went further into the park. This park is actually very vast and huge as we have never finished walking the whole place. We went to another side of it where there was some simpler playground facilities such as the merry-go-round and swings as well as some fitness facilities.

There was also a rainbow structure in the middle of the park which we are quite familiar with. My boys wanted to go to it so I stood from a distance watching them running towards it, while I stood beside my faithful stroller. Taking them out alone and needing to carry many things for the picnic made me truly appreciate this stroller even more. Even when no child wants to sit on it, it still can help me carry many things. I feel weird nowadays if I have to go somewhere without it haha.

Finally it was 2pm and I decided it was time to go. The children returned the bubble solution tub and the wands and off we went home happily, with satisfaction. I aim to go more parks and outdoors this school holidays.

Never been to the park on a weekday and at noon hour. I was thinking if there is anyone crazy who want to be under the blazing hot sun like me. Indeed lesser crowd but I enjoyed the park even more. Usually on weekend evenings, this whole place is flooded with crowd flying kites. I actually like it better this time when all seem more quieter. Just check out the happy faces of these who went with me and who completed the scavenger hunt too!
