"Who want to bake brownies?" I asked. "Me! Me! Me!"

Firstly let's melt the butter first over low heat.

Oh the youngest wanted to try too.

It was his first attempt but look at him go, almost looking like a pro! He could even changed to different hand to stir.

This little one was very eager to pour and stir because it was his first bake!

He was fearless and went ahead without thinking much once instructions are given.

The best team together; one doing the pouring, another doing the stirring.

I asked the little one, "You do together?" He replied firmly, "Yes together!" So lovely to see their teamwork.

Satisfied with what he had done with his brother before I helped them placed it in the oven.

Proud of their efforts and waiting to dig in!
2 more days before school is restarting. I decided to do something I have delayed long, especially with the youngest one - Baking!
It is something I "owe" him. He has been showing so many signs he wants to do stirring and Baking. He would request for my mixing bowl and then he asked me to add in some ingredients like salt and pepper so he could stir. I know he wants to do Baking and I told myself we must tick this off the checklist before the school holidays ends.
As their dad is still quaranting in our house, I brought almost all my ingredients and tools over to my in-laws' house to have it done. When I brought everything over, the boy who always, ALWAYS ransacks my things, went to check out what I brought over.
Then he realized we were going to bake, hooray!
When my eldest was turning 3 years old, I let him try out Baking the first time. My youngest is already turning 4 hence we must let him try his too. This boy looked like he is so natural and has no fear or even hesitation at all when we were in it.
He wanted to melt the butter with us over the induction cooker so he would just get on the stool and he held the handle of the pot, started stirring with the spatula. I was afraid he might accidentally touch the pot so I watched him closely but he didn't
He was very confident in his actions.
I measured up all the ingredients and I taught the eldest to check out the recipe on the step-to-step instructions now that he knows how to read. The youngest would be pouring in the ingredients and the eldest did the mixing, what great teamwork!
Sometimes the eldest got tired with stirring and he asked his "assistant" to stir too, to which the youngest gladly obliged. They worked together so well. The eldest now being more experienced in baking because we have baked the same recipe many times, could even guide his younger brother on how to hold the mixing bowl and all.
Recipe:
200g icing sugar
65g multi purpose flour
145g butter
80g cocoa powder
1 tsp salt
2 large eggs
This recipe is suitable for an 8 inch tray.
- Melt the butter and mix the icing sugar with it.
- Pour in the cocoa powder and salt. Mix them in.
- Add in the eggs, one at a time.
- Finally mix in the multipurpose flour.
- You may opt to add in more chocolate chips, if you prefer. We did.
- Bake in the oven at 160c for 20 minutes.
Easily done and voila! Even children can do it!
My youngest was eager to wait for it that he came sit with me in front of the oven, watching it bake. When it was done, they were happy to smell the wonderful aroma in the house too.
So glad we made it! It was our weekend bonding time! Now they are happily munching it down for supper and perhaps for breakfast tomorrow too! Yay first bake for Micah and look how delighted the boy was!

This is amazing from an incredible Mom. Your kids must be surely proud of you and they did very superbly with the pancake.
So much fun seeing the boys growing up and having their time of their lives learning baking together with their mom
