Have you ever experienced the need to visit the loo while traveling? I guess most of us did, yeah?
Well, that was the case for me when we were traversing the provincial highway sometime ago. Blame the cup of coffee which I enjoyed prior to leaving the house and the cold weather too. It was New Year's day just before 10 in the morning and most establishments were closed. One of the places I was hoping to relieve myself was a Caltex station somewhere in Sadsadan, but guess what? They were also closed and so as their toilets.
Nevertheless, we pulled over just to take some photos of their giant guards --the Incredible Hulk and hmmm, the Hunting Lord? Not sure what he really is but it feels befitting to call him (it) such. The place literally had guard dogs (fourth photo). It was just good they were busy with their stretching that they didn't come running at us when we were out of the car. And perhaps they are already used to people coming and going.
That was just the little story behind these giant sculptures that we've seen and photographed in that area. We didn't stay long and we drove off still in the lookout for a public restroom which we were able to find some kilometers away. The Mt. Kalawitan Coffee Shop was closed for the day but they left their Pay Toilet open so yep, I've gotten my bladder's concern sorted, lol!
It wasn't the first time though. There had been several occasions in the past. One I'd never forget was an experience while we were on a train bound to HongKong years ago. But that's another story which I may have already shared, lol!
That is to say I've never really learned my lesson because I still drink coffee and water even when I know we are going to be on the road. Maybe I'm just so hopeful that we will always find a place along the way and we usually did. But yes, those are just some of the memories created while on the road. Those experiences do highlight the trips to be honest, lol!
