Hello, Hivers! How are you guys doin'? Rej here and this time I'm gonna be sharing with you how's life so far in the city. As someone who grew up in the province, it is still amazing for me to know that I've been staying in Cebu City for about 10 years now. When I was still a college student, I don't have much time for social life. My time is just revolving around studies (since I need to maintain a certain average every semester as an academic scholar), family and a lot of important things that time. I have no regrets at all. I then promised to myself that one day I will explore more of this beautiful city and it's finally happening now. Delayed gratification is so true and I've been experiencing it with the humble life that I have now.
I got invited by my friend, Nolen, who is now connected with Cebu Exchange. They had a company event and she invited me and our other close friend, JP to join her since visitors are welcome. JP and I had work the entire day and the good thing is their event happened in the evening so we were able to attend it. I was so happy that I said yes to this invitation. Aside from meeting new people, Nolen also showed us around the beautiful building of Arthaland and that includes the garden or rooftop with this incredible view of the city. Just WOW! This is Cebu during night time. Look how beautiful it is. The location was around IT Park- Cebu City, Philippines when I captured this fantastic view of the city.
Seeing this view from above reminds me so much of the beautiful things outside of my comfort zone. The city lights, the busy streets and everything in between. I truly had a delightful experience during that night. While watching the city lights, I was reminded of my humble beginnings in life. A simple province girl who spread my wings in the unfamiliar city back then with a burning passion to achieve my dreams and goals not just for myself but also for my family. Cebu City will always have a special place in my heart because it witnessed my ups and downs of becoming the person that I am today.
My life isn't a walk in the park in this beautiful city. I also experienced darkness that led me to the edge where I almost gave up in life. But looking at these beautiful city lights now, I realized that sometimes in order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present for us to appreciate life's true beauty.
How about you? What's your city life story? I'd love to hear those in the comment section.
That's it for today's Rejourney. I will see you all on my next one. Much love from your Inspiring Cebuana. Stay safe!
