Takoyaki is becoming one of common street foods here in the Philippines. It's undeniably true that the Filipino culture is somehow influence by the Japanese. Aside from Filipinos like to "Karaoke", Japanese anime but most specially Japanese food taste.

There are a lot of Japanese restaurants and food stores in Cebu that serve Takoyaki but I believe this is by far the best I've tried. They serve different types of Takoyaki. They have cheese bombs, Takoyaki Octopus, Baby Octopus and Yasai Taki Veggies.

I got the cheese bombs since I've just become a cheese lover. I didn't like cheese just until this year. I don't know my taste buds have just changed that fast.

My friends ordered the Takoyaki Octopus so we can just share and try the two flavors.

We also ordered a burger and chicken wings from a nearby store but I feel like those are just pretty common so I've decided to just blog about the Takoyaki.

Finally, everything is served and our hungry selves are excited to enjoy the foods,

Meet my friend Weddy who's always been my food buddy whenever we travel together.

For today's episode, I'm going to tour you to one of the good and affordable places to eat here around Cebu. It's going to be a long weekend and I'm starting it right by catching up with some good old friends. My high school best friend visited here Cebu so I got invited for a day out with her boyfriend's family. Since they are not very familiar with the places in Cebu, I had no second thought to meet them since it's my way to help them too and not to mention that it feels good to see them again after a long time.

I don't really like eating Takoyaki but when I tried Don Takoyaki's, it was mind blowing. Perhaps, it's the best Takoyaki I've tried so far. Takoyaki is a famous round shape balls Japanese snack that is consists of octopus. That is why it's sometimes referred as "octopus balls".

There are a lot of Japanese stores or stalls where you can try Takoyaki in Cebu. It's becoming one of the common street foods as well here in the Philippines. The taste of Takoyaki actually varies from one store to another so you could really compare which tastes better.

If you happen to visit SM Seaside Cebu, you can try the Don Takoyaki's stall at Sky Park Area. It has a mini Sugbo Mercado where you can try a variety of food stalls and restaurants. The main location of Sugbo Mercado is at IT Park, Lahug. I might make a separate blog about SM Seaside sky park but for the meantime, let me share you my experience at Don Takoyaki's.

I ordered the Cheese bombs and Takoyaki Octopus for my friends. The cheese bombs costs 85.00 pesos (1..54 US Dollar) for 4 pcs. and 150.00 pesos( 2.72 US Dollar) for 8 pcs while for Takoyaki Octopus costs 80.00 pesos (1.45 US Dollar) and for 4 pcs and 150 pesos (2.72 US Dollars) for 8 pcs.

They also have Vasai Yaki Veggies and Baby Octopus. Additional charges may apply for additional Japanese mayo, takoyaki sauce. katsuobushi and torched cheese. It's best served with their Iced Juice Pouch drinks for only 50 pesos or 1 US Dollar.
What I like about Don Takoyaki, it's thicker and it has more octopus content unlike the other takoyakis I've tried, The sauce also doesn't taste sour and it really blends well with the cheese. You don't easily get tired of its taste and smell.

Overall, it's worth the penny. It can already satisfy your cravings. The place isn't that spacious though so if there are many customers, you'll probably wait for you to dine in.

That's basically it, I hope you liked this episode and I hope to interact with you in the comment section below. Everyone's glad to hear the stories of yours! Just always remember that learning is a lifetime process. You can learn from your experiences, trips and from other people. The world is so vast. Explore and Learn! Dear @itinerantph, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago when the HBD stabilizer proposal rose above it.

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work?
