Blessed day to everyone in this HIVE world, this time I bring you an experience of my stay in New York City. One morning when I was heading to the famous Appel electronics store that we all know and that in another post I will be showing, since it is an attraction for the design of its facilities that I have to share with all of you. When I reached the corner of a traffic light where I was waiting for the red light to cross, I could visualize that at the other end of the street, a golden statue at one of the entrances of Central Park, turned me off the road and I approached to admire its beauty. Right at the intersection of 15th Street with Pennsylvania Avenue in Sherman Square. In front of the corner of the Grand Army Plaza.
It is the monument of William Tecumseh Sherman and next to it the Greek Goddess Victoria. According to the writings, the base of the statue was made by the artist Carl Rohl Smit and inaugurated in 1903. With a writing in its base that says: to the general born February 8, 1820 and died February 14, 1891, built by the citizens of New York under the hospice of the New York State Chamber of Commerce. Thank you for reading me and I hope to continue showing New York and its charms.
