I turned 28 last March 25, 2023. Our relatives, whenever there are birthday celebrations, tremendous foods are prepared with a lot of visitors. Well, I thought of celebrating mine in a unique way. Why not trying barbecue with just the close family? I thought that this was a very good idea. Aside of not spending a lot of money, we get bond with the families closer.
With the help of Ma and my sister, we prepared different variants of barbecues namely; pork , chicken intestines, chicken thighs, and hotdogs. Well let’s not forget the Cebu’s famous hanging rice, “poso.” Just so you know, I personally went to the market to buy all these and the sack of charcoal. Imagine me carrying a sack of charcoal while wearing a white tshirt. 😂 Turning 28 made me buy all these with just a little budget. Haha
Ma, upon my arrival from the market, seasoned the foods while me and sister helped in skewering the barbecues. Pa and my brothers prepared the charcoal outside.
I asked my aunt to lend me their video karaoke. We are aspiring singers in our family. I guess, all Filipinos. Every family gatherings, singing is one way to make the atmosphere a lot more gay and happy. This is a Filipino culture that has instilled to everyone of us.
At around 6pm, I called my aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews to gather already to pray for the food. Ma initiated the prayer.
And that’s when the chaos started. A happy version of chaos! 🥰
