Flying a sky lantern has been one of my childhood dreams ever since the movie "Tangled" was released. I've longed to make or buy a sky lantern to try to heal my childhood. I've always wanted to know what it feels like to fly a sky lantern, what it looks like up in the sky. These are the common questions in my mind every time I see a sky lantern or people flying one. I always wonder, like a young Rapunzel who witnessed thousands of sky lanterns in the castle flying up in the sky but never got a chance to experience flying one herself. It has been one of my dreams since then, but now it's no longer just a dream, as I got to experience it on my own.
This was a gift from my girlfriend for my birthday last month. Yes, I have a girlfriend. It's a long story, and all I can say is that I have finally found someone who treated me so well. She made my childhood dream come true, and it feels really good. It's wonderful to fly a sky lantern with your own hands and, in that moment, you're back to your younger self, with a big smile and making a wish while watching the lantern slowly rise higher in the sky. I was so happy that night. It's one of the best gifts I've received for my birthday. It's very simple, but the memories we made and the moment we spent together are priceless.
